A Party Inspired By…A Birthday Bash

Today’s my birthday and I’ve opted not to have a party, but instead head to the beach next week to have a quiet celebration with my hubby.

Of course I couldn’t help but dream about what my party would be like, if I did had one.

It would be a little on the decadent side and would look a little something like this…

A custom party invitation designed by Jenn at Covered Porch Designs

Invitations after all set the tone for the event and custom  invitations can be designed to work with your party theme, colors and decor so that you are creating an experience from the moment your guest receive their invite.

Lots of Balloons and Paper Pom Poms as the decor!

Balloon alone can be a bit lack luster and expected, but when mixed with paper pom poms you’ll create decor that is visually more exciting.  And, when using balloons, use a variety of sizes within the mix.

My favorite cocktail, a Raspberry Lemon Martini!

Every great party should have a “signature cocktail”.  If you’re not great a mixing drinks yourself, head to your favorite restaurant and ask for help from the bartender to help you create something unique.

Pretty table decor with beautiful dinnerware, linens and flowers!

I love a beautifully decorated party table and achieving it is as simple of creating a color/pattern story, layering your dinnerware and creating beautiful flower arrangements.  For high impact flowers, use just one type of flower in abundance.

Fun and festive Paper Streamers!

I love a whimsical element for a birthday celebration such as these paper streamers.  Hang a grouping behind the bar area or over a door entrance!

A beautiful & yummy Birthday Cake!

Don’t settle for a plain store-bought cake but instead make the cake part of the decor.

A SWEET Candy Buffet!

I love the idea of a candy buffet at a party, serving up your favorite sweets.  Make sure to have cute take home bags near by so guest can take some treats home.

A great source for bulk candy is Candy Warehouse.  They even have a section on their site to help you design your own candy buffet.

And, a Party Favor, beautifully wrapped for each of my guest!

Host and hostess typically receive a gift when they thrown a party, but I always have a small gift for my guest, beautifully wrapped of course!
