Entertaining Idea: An Oscar Party for Two

Happy Friday!  I hope your week was great and that your weekend is filled with sunshine and good times.

My weekend is going to be jammed packed. Tomorrow I’ve got a couple of marketing projects to complete for companies I work with, I’ve got blog post to write for next week and I’ve got to get all my ducks in a row for the Design Bloggers Conference which is just days away.  Despite all that I’m looking forward to Sunday evening and the Oscars.  I of course watch the Oscars first for the fashion, second for the jewelry and third to see if my favorite movie wins the big award.  My husband reluctantly watches because I ask him to but this year I’m giving him even more incentive.

Make Life Lovely

I decided to make a couple of quick crafting projects and create party snack trays for us, for the big event.  What I created is nothing earth shattering but it will put a festive touch on the evening.

Welcome to An Oscar Party for Two!

I had two of these white melamine trays on hand and will be using them as our personal snack trays.

We’ll each have our own bottle of sparkling wine dressed up with a glittered bow and a chevron popcorn bag filled with gourmet kettle corn.  I added the chalkboard tags with a cute sentiment to fit the occasion.

I created coasters from two square tile pieces I had lying around.  The black fan pattern was created using a Sharpie and it only took about 10 minutes to make the two.

We’ll each get a golden ticket to the Oscars!  It’s actually a chocolate bar wrapped in gold paper, adorned with a pennant tag I made on the computer and a gold star.

Oh, I couldn’t leave the glasses plain so I dressed those up with a ring of gold glitter tape (my new favorite crafting material).

I am looking forward to the Oscars on Sunday and while my hubby probably won’t enjoy it, he’ll love the treats!

p.s.  My bet is on 12 Years a Slave (even though I’d love to see Captain Phillips win it!)

Are you doing anything special to celebrate the Oscars??
