HANDCRAFTED ORGANIZATION

What’s the next best thing to having a “handy” husband? Having a good friend who is not only handy, but who is also a genius woodworker.

Meet Jeff!

He was working so fast the motion made the picture a bit blurry.

Jeff and I work next door to each other, and rarely does a day go by that I don’t have him fixing, gluing, repairing or designing something for the store.  Recently however, I had a personal project I wanted Jeff to work on.

As a self-confessed neat freak, I am always looking for unique and stylish ways to organize me work space, so when I saw a really cool bulletin board in a catalog, I simply asked Jeff, “Can You Make Me One of These?”

Without hesitation…he said,  “Of Course!”

The Inspiration

With that said, Jeff went to work.  Here’s the beginnings  of my new bulletin board…

Wood….

Cutting Wood….

Shaping Wood…

Building the Wood Frame…

Installing Wood Dowels…

And, my finished bulletin board!

Jeff used Cherry wood to construct the frame of the bulletin board, stained it in a Mahogany finish and lined the back with cork floor tiles.  I just love the marblelized texture that the cork provides, and the dowels allow me to easily store magazines and papers. Jeff did a great job making my bulletin board.  Not only is it totally functional, but it’s pretty too!

If you have a “handy man”  in your home that’s awesome….if not, you can reach Jeff at jmswoodworking@ymail.com!
