Handmade Holiday Gift Tags

One of my favorite creative projects to do during the holidays is to craft handmade gift tags.  I love pulling out my stash of papers, pens, embellishments and ribbon to create tags to put on gifts for family and friends.

This year I used some fun rubber stamps from Craffiti Direct as the inspiration for my tags.

Since my Christmas décor this year has more of a classic and traditional spin my tags reflect that.

This beautiful scroll stamp is one of my favorites and I’m using it a lot to make tags this year.  The minute I saw it, I knew the center circle was calling for an initial so I added a circular bubble initial sticker.  For a bit more glitz small glitter holly berry sticker gave me just the look I wanted.

This branches and berries stamp is another fave.  There are so many seasonal uses for this stamp but for Christmas it screamed green and red. I used red and white washi tape to frame the image and colored the leaves green. Some of the circles I colored in with red and others I left alone.  I like the contrast the black and white detail provides.  As the finishing touch for this tag, I added a few red and green dimensional stones.

Several of my gifts this year will be wrapped in kraft paper so I decided to make a few kraft tags as well.  The It’s Christmas stamp, a couple of glitter holly stickers and red and green washi tape gave this tag a classic, old-world charm.

For a more contemporary look, I stamped the circle scallop flower  in different spots on this long tag.  I added touches of red and green color and a few green stones as embellishments.

Here’s a look at the full collection of gift tags I’ve made so far.  I’m sure I’ll be crafting tags up until I hear the sleigh bells ring.
