Scott Antique Market: An Old Freind and New Treasures

August 2013 (18)
Happy Monday my friends!!!!  I’m so sorry to see the weekend end because mine was filled with lots of fun.
First up the hubs and I made the trek out to Scott Antique Market.  Attending a gigantic antique market in 95+ degree weather is not something my husband likes to do often but he’s a trooper and when Scott’s falls on his Friday off he usually joins me on my shopping adventure.  I’m so glad he went this time because we ran into a good friend that just opened a booth in the North building.  Our friend Steve owned and operated one of the top showrooms at the mart for many years and I used to buy from his product lines when I had my store open.  In addition to the mart showroom, Steve has operated several antique spaces here in Atlanta on Bennett Street and on Miami Circle, which happen to be the diamond district for antiques in the ATL.  Steve recently closed his showroom at the mart and has opened a booth at Scott’s. I was so excited to see Steve and fell in love with everything he had for sale.
Before I show you the photos I snapped of his space, let me just preface this by saying that Steve has exquisite taste, has an incredible eye for product and is a master stylist when it comes to setting up displays.    (and excuse my blurry photos)

The mix of items in Steve’s booth ranged from classic antiques to whimsical and eclectic pieces.

Many of Steve items were purchased by him and his wife in Europe.  Lovely mirror!

I loved this antique dress form and this gorgeous cabinet.

All of the artwork in Steve’s booth were original oil paintings.  The images were great to use in a gallery wall arrangement.

This bamboo table was beautiful and had great details.

An eclectic mix of baskets and accessories.  Those starburst medallions keep calling my name the more I look at this photo.

This sideboard was stunning.  It was really grand and had beautiful hardware.

Columns and wood risers just waiting to create drama in a home.

Totally random but I watch the TV show Mountain Men { don’t judge} and Tom, one of the MM carries a vintage woven basket on his back when he goes hunting.  Every time I see Tom’s basket I want one. This reminds me of Tom’s basket but only for “chic city girls”.

I was drooling over this wood umbrella/cane stand.

Fun little antique stool.

I love antique wicker.  This basket on top of the table is actually a lamp base.
August 2013 (19)
Beautiful antique glass nesting tables and that leather doctors bag on the floor was pretty amazing.  Sorry I didn’t get more of it in the photo.

A clay pots in a really cool wood box.
There was so much eye candy I wish you were there to see if with me. I tried to snap some photos of the entire space but Steve was selling things right and left while I was there so it was had to take pictures.
If you visit Scott’s, make sure to check out Steve’s space.  He is in the North building, aisle C7, a few spaces up from the food booth.  He has 4 spaces in total, on both sides of the aisle.  When you stop by make sure to let Steve know Shelly sent you!
Happy treasure hunting!
Shelly
