Bohemian Inspired Tablescape | & Styling Tips

Bohemian Inspired Spring Tablescape by ConfettiStyle

On my long list of ‘Things I Love To Do’, designing tablescapes would be one of the top 10.  I love dreaming up table settings using beautiful china, linens and tabletop items.  It’s usually a pretty tablecloth or dinner plate that serves as my inspiration and that was definitely the case with todays Bohemian Inspired Spring Tablescape.

Before I show you the table setting, first let me tell you about the source for these gorgeous plates.  A few weeks ago a UK-based company called Amara contacted me about doing a product review. I knew Amara was a company I wanted to work with and share with you after spending some time on their website.

If you’re like me, you may not have heard of Amara before so let me tall you about them.  The company started in 2005 as an interior design business in the UK.  After achieving success with interior design,  the company opened a luxury homewares retail shop.  The retail store was followed by an online business which has grown into a leading source for home decor, lifestyle products and gifts. The expansion of their business into e-commerce now enables them to ship their products worldwide.

Over the years Amara had grown to include over 300 brands and over 35,000 products.  Their product offering includes high-end home and tabletop brands like Missoni Home, William Yeoward Crystal and Ted Baker.  And many of the brands are exclusive to Amara including Ralph Lauren Home, who selected Amara as the only online store to distribute their home collections.

p.s. The tabletop  and dining product selection from Amara is just amazing so if you love to entertain and create tablescapes you’ll want to check it out.

Ok, let’s get to my spring tablescape…

A complete Source List is included at the end of the post!

The jumping off point for my bohemian infused tablescape was the Pip Studio Royal Pip Dinner Plates.  The minute I saw the scalloped edge and colorful pattern I knew they would be perfect for a spring tablescape. The Pip Studio collection includes a wide range of items including bed linen, clothing & fashion accessories, tabletop serving and dinnerware and gift items.  And all of the items are designed with bold colors and beautiful floral patterns.

Taking my cues from the pattern and colors in the plate, I layered my dining table with a mix of linens.  I used a blue and white chintz floral fabric as a tablecloth and a yellow medallion fabric as the runner.  The dinner napkins tied into the colors on the plate and also to the flowers I used in the centerpiece.

One of the items I used in the centerpiece arrangement were a pair of gold lanterns.  These lantern had been sitting in my garage for ages and were a dark bronze color.  After a quick coat of gold spray paint they were totally transformed. #spraypaintrules

tablescape tip:  instead of a candle, fill a lantern with faux flowers making sure to arrange them so they look good from all sides of the table

The other statement piece in my centerpiece is my large blue and white money dish. Not only does it add more whimsy to the table but it also brings in another touch of blue and white.  The silk flowers and greenery at the base of the monkey replicate the flowers on the dinner plates and in the lanterns.

The bohemian vibe really comes to life with all of the different colors, pattern and materials I pulled in the table.  I used different styles of glassware in a variety of colors and a wood charger at each place setting.

I put the Pip Studio dinner plates on rectangular wood chargers that I found at a thrift store.  The wood is a great contrast to the porcelain plate and creates an additional layer to my table decor.

tablescape tip:  when mixing colors in a tablescape, have each accent color represented in at least three different areas of the table {i.e.:  blue tablecloth, blue money, blue napkins}

tablescape tip:  layering is the key to any dynamic tablescape.  Start with your table linens and keep adding layers all the way through up to your dinnerware.

tablescape tip:  one of my money saving tips is to forgo expensive table lines and make my own using inexpensive cotton fabrics

tablescape tip:  using items in different shapes will add loads of visual interest to your table so have fun mixing it up.
