Holiday Gift Guide | All Things Chinoiserie

Happy Friday friends.  I hope your Thanksgiving was fabulous!  I spent a low-key day with my mom, brother and his girlfriend and it was perfect in every way.  We slept in, treated ourselves to dinner out and watched our fill of holiday movies.  Now it’s time to enjoy the Christmas season.

I have another Christmas gift guide for you today and this one is near and dear to my heart because it’s chinoiserie themed!

I spent lots of time scorning the web and shopping some of my favorite stores to round-up amazing gift ideas for you.  If you or someone you know is a fan of blue & white, pagodas, ginger jars and chinoiserie patterns then you’re in for a treat.  Grab a cup of cocoa and have fun shopping a few of my favorite things.

_____

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS | CHINOISERIE GIFTS

2018 Chinoiserie Gift Guide by ConfettiStyle

Decorative Chinoiserie Tape * A fun gift for anyone that loves to craft or enjoys DIY projects.  I’d use this to embellish plain stationery or notecards, or as a decorative detail on an acrylic tray or glass picture frames.

Set of 3 Blue and White Flower Pots * Blue & White pots like these can be used for so many things.  Along with holding plants, they can be used to hold kitchen utensils, office supplies or bathroom vanity accessories.  And the price can’t be beat.

Personalized Chinoiserie Notecards * A great girlfriend or teacher gift, and you’ll probably want to get a set for yourself while you’re at it.

Seda France Jardin Du 3-WIck Candle  * This candle container is really pretty and the scent is amazing!  Stock up on these for hostess gifts or a special gift for co-workers.

Tobacco Leaf Tin Plates * These plates are almost too pretty to eat off of but they would make the perfect gift for anyone that loves to entertain.

Set of 3 Pagoda Pouches * Fill these pouches with cosmetic samples, personal care items or office supplies and you’ve got a great gift for your mom, sister or any woman in your life.

Ginger Jar Dish Towel * I love this tea-towel on its own but would pair it with a cutting board(see #21), or tea-cup (see #9) to make the gift extra special.

Blue Ceramic Food Storage Containers * My friend Marsha brought these storage containers to my attention.  They come in two sizes and would be fun as part of a holiday cookie exchange.

Ginger Jar Mug * Pair this cute mug with a coffee gift card or my favorite tea to create an easy gift set.

Personalized Pagoda Bookplates * The perfect (and unique) gift for anyone that’s book obsessed like me.  This is just of the many amazing designs that Nancy hand illustrates herself.

Monogram Ginger Jar Notebook * Can you ever have too many cute notebooks?  don’t think so.  The animal print pattern and personalization on this notebook are just too cute and something everyone can use.

Ginger Jar Champagne Bucket * This Aerin designed bucket has been on my radar for a very long time.  Perfect for chilling wine or champagne, and I also think it would make a great flower vase.

Tobacco Leaf Design iPhone Case * Yes please!! The case comes in a variety of phone sizes and is currently 20% off with code:  BLKFRIDAYZAZ

Pink and Red Dragon Pajama Set *  A cozy set of pajama’s for cold winter nights.  The color combo is my all time favorite and I love the whimsical dragon pattern.

Blue & White Picture Frames * Such a beautiful way to display a favorite photo.  A great gift for new parents or a newlywed couple.

Porcelain Calligraphy Brush and Brush Holder* These pieces are perfect for adding a little style to a work or creative space.  Both pieces are on sale, under $7.00 ea. p.s.  I’d also use the jar to hold make-up brushes or toothbrushes in the bathroom.

Ceramic Pagoda Cookie Jar * Cookies and Christmas go hand in hand and this cookie jar is such a unique storage vessel.  Just fill with cookies and add a big red bow for a great family gift.

Bungalow Rose Floral Garden Stool * Is there someone who loves home decor on your gift list?  This pretty garden stool would definitely put a smile on their face.

Ginger Jar Doormat * It’s hard to find a stylish doormat but I think this one checks all the boxes.  This would also look great layered over a decorative outdoor rug.

Chinoiserie Monogram Cutting Board * This cutting board is one of my go-to gift items.  There are a ton monogram styles and color options to choose from so you can customize it however you like.

Wedgwood Sandwich Tray * I don’t know about you, but I love a pretty tray for entertaining or decorating.  This floral pattern is just so pretty.

The Best Christmas Tree Scented Candles

The Best Christmas Tree Scented Candles

When we lived in Seattle I was all about natural Christmas decor.  Every year we’d go to a Christmas tree farm to cut down a tree. And I would drape fresh garland on the mantel, along the staircase and around the front door.   Despite all the needles I had to sweep up, I loved the smell of fresh greenery at Christmas.

When we moved to Atlanta, we decorated with a fresh tree for a few years but it wasn’t the same. The tree dried out faster and the fragrance was never as good.  Fifteen years ago we made the switch from real to faux decor and I found other ways to bring a Christmas scent into our home.  Candles were the answer!

Here’s a round up of my favorite Christmas Tree scented candles that will make your home smell like a fresh cut tree.   And in case you’re wondering, I’ve burned every candle on my list so they are all ConfettiStyle approved!

My Favorite Christmas Candles

Williams Sonoma Winter Forest ($19.95)–Like all of the products from Williams Sonoma, this Winter Forest candle has a long-lasting scent and burns clean (none of that soot build-up). And at $19.95 this candle is a great gift basket item.

Bath and Body Works Fresh Balsam ($24.50, sale $14.50)–There are so many great candle scents from Bath and Body Works and the Fresh Balsam is definitely at the top of my list.  The smell is amazing and the price (currently on sale for $14.50) makes it a great value for the size.  I buy this candle in multiples and burn it all the way through February when it’s still cold out.

Thymes Fraiser Fir ($50.00)–When it comes to Christmas Tree scents, this candle is pretty legendary.  It’s a little more expensive than the others but the quality and fragrance make it well worth the price.  And if candles aren’t your thing, I also recommend their fragrance mist and diffuser.

Illume Balsam and Cedar($28.00)–I love the collection of Balsam and Cedar candles from Illume.  The scent is wonderful and they sell classic jar and tin candles as well as decorative containers like mercury glass.

Nest Birchwood Pine ($41.96-affiliate link)–Nest candles are one of my go-to luxury gift items.  The jars are beautiful and the Birchwood Pine fragrance is soft but strong at the same time.

Aunt Sadie’s Tree In A Candle($21.00-affiliate link)–I discovered this candle when I had my home decor store.  The retro packaging is what initially drew me to the line but once I burned a candle,  I was totally sold.  The scent is awesome and the candle burns really clean.

When its cold outside (like today) you’ll most likely find me wearing yoga pants and a sweatshirt. I love a sweatshirt that has a little style to it and recently picked up this cute striped sweatshirt.  It’s so cozy and I love the puff sleeve.

This tartan plaid shirt would be fun to wear to a casual Christmas party.

I don’t shop H & M that often but they’ve got some really cute clothes right now.  And you can’t beat their prices.  This cute nordic inspired sweater and this mohair blend sweater are two seasonal faves.

Weekend Wrap-Up | Fall Favorites & What I Bought

Happy Saturday!  I woke up this morning, stepped outside and got a whiff of fall.  It was cool outside and I noticed that the leaves are slowly starting to change on the trees.  Unfortunately the cool temps won’t last because its supposed to be in the 90’s today.  With temps like that I’m planning to stay close to home this weekend, get through my magazine stack and do a little work.  Wherever you are, I hope your weekend is great.

Here are a few of my favorite things from the week:

Classic Color Combination: Black & White

When you think about classic colors to decorate with, black and white should be at the top of your list.  Black as a stand alone color is dramatic and refined. When paired with white it can take on sleek, modern feel.  The two colors together are sophisticated and timeless and the perfect foundation for any room.  It doesn’t matter if it’s a bathroom, sunroom or this beautiful living room that I spotted in Real Simple, black and white never fails to disappoint.

Fall Pillow Finds | My Favorite Picks For The Season

When it comes to fall decorating, I don’t go overboard with my decor. I like to scatter a few pumpkins here and there and replace spring flowers with fall blooms.  I also change out the pillows on the sofa for ones with more of a fall feel. Since I’m not big on pumpkin designs, I look for patterns that represent fall through their colors and/or texture. Investing in these types of design gives me more versatility when I’m decorating and I can keep them out until I start decorating for Christmas.

I’ll be sharing my fall home tour on Wednesday where you’ll get to see the pillows I’m using in my fall decor.  Until then, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite fall inspired {and budget-friendly} styles for you to shop.

FALL PILLOW PICKS

No. 1   There is so much to love about this Carpet Print.  From the vintage inspired design to the soft, muted colors.  This pillow would look great paired with a chunky wool throw.

No. 2   I love the texture, colors and boho vibe in this lumbar pillow.  It’s a generous size and would look great on a sofa or accenting a bed.

No. 3  The colors in this floral lumbar pillow just scream fall and the plush fabric gives it a cozy feel.  With so much color, this is a great pattern to mix and match with other colors.  I also like this velvet design and this floral pattern.

No. 4   How fun is the diamond shag pillow?  The combination of rich, warm colors and soft texture made this a fun pillow to add to a family room or play area.

No. 5  This multicolored pillow just might be my favorite fall inspired pillow because of all the color. And I love the black over-stitch that gives the pillow even more dimension.

No. 6  Tapestry designs are trending right now and this woven tapestry is a beauty.  The colors are rich and warm and the design is perfect for traditional or eclectic design styles.

No. 7  This hook and loop pillow from Wayfair has a global look to it.  I love the nubby texture and abstract pattern.  Definitely a fun accent for more modern or boho design styles.

No. 8  I think animal prints are perfect for year round decorating, but for fall they are a great way add an elegant fall feel.  This hide cheetah print  is a showstopper and will pair beautifully with stripes of floral patterns.

What’s your favorite way to decorate your home for fall?  Do you go all out or do you make minor changes to welcome the season?

The Rustic Market | Acworth, GA

I like shopping at big box stores, but there’s nothing like shopping at boutique retail stores.  As a previous store owner, I know all about the hard work that goes into making these stores special.  And if you want decor that you won’t readily find elsewhere, specialty stores are where you want to shop.

One of my favorite specialty decor and gift stores in the Atlanta area is the The Rustic Market located in Acworth.  A few weeks ago I made a trip to visit the store and attend their open house event.  The store is really great and today I’m going to give you a little tour.

THE RUSTIC MARKET

Debbie, the owner of The Rustic Market opened the store several years ago and has continued to grow and expand the business.  The store is made up of three connected storefronts with open access between each space.  One section of the store has gifts and personal care items like candles and  bath and body products.  The middle section of the store is where you’ll find apparel and fashion accessories. The other side of the store is the new furniture gallery where you’ll find larger furniture pieces, wall decor, lighting and textiles.

The Rustic Market specialized in modern, farmhouse decor with beautiful wood and upholstered furniture, textiles and decorative accessories.  Their gift assortment includes a wide range of tabletop, entertaining and hostess gifts as well as a fun offering of unique baby items. I bought a set of these monogrammed dinner napkins and will be using them in my fall tablescape.

As you walk around the store, the beautiful displays will grab your attention and give you lots of decorating inspiration. And don’t forget to look high and low because there are unique items everywhere.

I love these oversized corbels used as bookends.  This would be a great statement on a mantel or hallway console table.

The black iron candle holder below was such a unique piece.  A pair of these would look great on a dining table for fall and holiday entertaining. If you love antique and vintage inspired wall decor, you’ll find lots of it in the store.

Unique Furniture, Gifts & Home Decor

The Rustic Market host open house events throughout the year so be sure to like their Facebook page to get notifications of upcoming event.  And cross your fingers that they are serving their Sangria because it is so good!

Supporting local retailers is one of the best ways to keep your city thriving and if you live in the Atlanta area, I recommend you indulge in a little retail therapy at The Rustic Market.

The Rustic Market

Brookstone Dr NW, Suites 220 & 230
