SUMMER VIBE

** I’m loving the new Draper James + Crate and Barrel collaboration.  This sun hat and these napkins are two of my favorite items.

** I recently started shopping at The Loft and absolutely love this swimsuit coverup.  FYI–Loft has a great sale going on right now with lots of items 50% off.

Summer Vibe--Fashion

What Every Bedroom Needs!

** I still can’t believe the death of Kate Spade.  I own all of her books and will forever be inspired by her style.  Her books Style and Things We Love are treasures.

** I found a new Etsy shop for stylish pillows.  I love this Antelope pillow in grey.

** Instagram has become a real driving force for bloggers and influencers.  I’m still a novice at Instagram and am always looking for ways to grow my instagram following. I came across these tips on building and growing your Instagram feed.  It’s a good read with lots of valuable information.

** Zara Home is having an amazing sale.  If you’re in the market for new bedding check out the sale items here. This tablecloth would be amazing as part of a 4th of July tablescape.   And this tablecloth has me swooning.

** In case you missed it, here’s a little summer entertaining inspiration for you.

SUMMER ENTERTAINING IDEAS

Outdoor entertaining takes on new meaning this time of year.  Finding new ways to use pieces you already own & incorporating the bounty of the season will help make entertaining outdoors even more fun and exciting.

♦  Put on twist on a caprese salad by replacing the tomatoes with sweet Georgia peaches.

♦  Use oversized glass jars as serving bowls for salads and fresh fruits.  Jars allow food to be visible while adding impact to your buffet setting.

♦  Instead of expensive flowers for the centerpiece, let the food be the focal point.  A long wood board piled high with a variety of cheeses, fruits, meats and nuts will be the center of attention.

♦  Get creative with the things you own.  A recycled canoe makes a charming outdoor serving station of finger foods.

♦  Place those delicate china plates with small rustic wood cutting boards which function just a good as traditional serve ware.

♦  Keep thing simple but elegant and create personalized place setting with oversized dollies.  Use a Sharpie to pen the name of guests or pull out that collection of letter stickers and give each dollie its unique spin.

♦  Use elements from mother nature as decor for your party.  A handful of pretty leaves and a metallic pen is all it takes to make these stylish name cards.

♦  Make a single bouquet of flowers go the extra mile by mixing in greenery pieces you cut from the yard to create a dynamic centerpiece.

♦  And when impact is called for, drape the center with an assortment of summer lanterns surrounded by lush greenery and foliage.

Summer entertaining is about letting loose, having fun and enjoying the season!

Iced Tea Pitchers–Southern Entertaining Essential

Iced Tea Southern Living

southern living

On my trip to Round Top Antiques Market, my friend Marsha scored a really great deal on a milk glass pitcher and glasses.  It’s the perfect set for serving up sweet tea on her back patio, on a lazy summer evening.  Make sure to check out her blog because rumor has it that she’ll be sharing her Round Top finds soon.

Now that iced tea season is here, I’m on the hunt for the perfect pitcher to serve up my favorite iced tea beverages.  A quick search of the web and I found a several pitchers I love and even better, the prices!

Iced Tea Season.001

It’s amazing what beautiful items you can find at H and M Home.  This Patterned Glass Carafe is an amazing find for only $24.99 and the emerald green is such a hot trend color right now.
You can never go wrong with classic glass pitchers especially when it has a hobnail detail and gold rim.  This Textured Glass Pitcher is another H and M Home find. $17.99
I love the scroll detail at the top of this Pressed Glass Pitcher and could see it being used for all types of summer beverages.  At $12.98 this piece is a great buy and would also make a great wedding or shower gift.
You know I love blue and white so it’s not a surprised I was attracted to the Azure Design Pitcher from Overstock. This one has Sangria and iced tea written all over it$32.99
Maybe my favorite of them all is this Meyer Lemon Pitcher from Williams Sonoma Home.  I love the lemon image and the vintage enamel ware styling. $45.99
And for those of you that love margaritas as much as you do iced tea, this Tequila Sunrise Pitcher is for you.  The color combo makes it easy to mix with any table setting decor. $43.99

Since we’re on the subject of iced tea, here are a couple of my favorite summertime iced tea recipes you might want serve up in your pitcher.

Since I grew up on the west coast, I didn’t acquire a taste of iced tea until I moved to the South but I must say, summers wouldn’t be the same without it.
