Now that you’ve got your gift in mind, let’s talk gift wrap…

Father’s Day Gift Wrapping Tips:

** Instead of a traditional box, wrap you gift in a unique container like a paint can or wood box.

Paint Can Gift Wrap

**  If you can’t find a masculine themed wrapping paper, get creative and use an old shirt, a piece of fabric, kraft paper or newspaper as gift wrap to keep the gift man friendly.

Newspaper giftwrap

**  Forgo pretty ribbon and use leather cording or a tie to add the finishing touch to your gift.

Leather twine ribbon

**  Instead of a paper gift tag, use a key fob as a gift tag.

DIY Valentines Cards (that are actually gifts)

Felt Hearts

I don’t send out Valentines cards every year, but this year I decided to get crafty and make a card that’s actually a usable gift.

Because I’m sending these gifts to a few of my special girlfriends, I wanted it to be something that was personal and could be used in different ways.  After coming across a piece of leather I had stashed away I decide to make a keepsake heart charm.

Outside the holiday season, the spring and early summer months are prime gift giving times with graduations, weddings, mother’s day, father’s day and many of my friends and family’s birthdays taking place during these months.  Shopping at the last-minute for gifts is not something I like to do so I tend to keep a stash of essential gifts on hand in my gift closet.  These are items that have universal appeal and items that can easily be paired with another piece if the occasion calls for a little something more.  Here’s a look at the items I like to gift most and always keep in my gift closet.

Decor Trends 2019 ( Plus Design Tips)

Hi friends.  Boy has it been a hectic day today.  I sat down this morning to write this post thinking I would have it done early this morning.  Little did I know that one little errand would turn into an all day affair. Anyhow, here’s my post on the design and color trends I spotted at the Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings market a few weeks ago. Along with highlighting some of the key trends, I’m giving you my take one each of them.  Plus I’m sharing a few design tips in case you want to incorporate any of these looks into your decor.

Before I jump into the trends, here’s a little background on the market I attend each year.

The market takes place twice a year and is the largest wholesale market for decor and gifts in the country.  Every January and July, manufacturers introduce new products that retail stores will be buying for the upcoming season.   The market is also where interior designers can go to source products for their clients.

I spent 9 days at market and walked away with a good take on what the hottest trends will be for spring and summer.  Here’s what I saw…

Weekend Wrap-up: Inspiring Ideas-Vol. 8

Happy weekend friends.  It’s been a busy week in my neck of the woods.  I’ve been working on client projects, shopping for my mom’s new place and we’ve been installing some new light fixtures in our abode.  All good stuff but I’ve been on busy beaver.

I just wanted to pop in today and share a few fabulous finds and style inspiration.  Enjoy!

*****

Entertaining & Organizing Inspiration…

I was literally drooling when Courtney at Pizzazzerie shared her prop room.  Did you see it?  It is truly AMAZING!!!! I loved seeing all of the tabletop pieces she’s collected over the years and uses in her stunning tablescapes.  Now I think I need to start collecting cake plates and definitely need more dinner napkins!   You can tour the entire space here.

On My Shopping List…

I am usually all in when it comes to shopping but I have to admit that I’m not all that enthusiastic about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  I think every blogger in America (minus me) is sharing a round-up of their favorite fall picks.  Even though I’m nowhere near ready to start buying fall clothes, I did take a quick look on the site and found a few items that I think are perfect to use now.

I’m a big fan of Voluspa candles and this trio of small tin candles can’t be beat for $15.90. The tins are the perfect size to use in a bathroom or guest bedroom and they also make a great gift.  You might want to stock up now for holiday stocking stuffers.

The Bauble Bar Genevieve Hoop Earrings are jus darling.  With every color in the rainbow included, you could easily wear these with something dressy or pair them with jeans and tee.  And they are just $24.90!

This.Is.Such.A.Cute.Bag!  While most of the handbags I own are on the larger size, I adore this Leith Bicolor Faux Leather Cylinder Bag.  It’s the perfect weekend bag for shopping and jotting around town. And the color combo is a nice change from black.

Entertaining Inspiration…

In case you missed it, I co-hosted a Backyard Bash Blog Hop this week with a few blogging friends.  We shared loads of entertaining inspiration, tips and ideas so be sure to check out everyone’s post.  I’ve listed the participating bloggers below.Weekend Wrap-up by ConfettiStyle

On The Bookshelf…

If you haven’t picked up your copy of Iris Apfel: Accidental Icon, you can snag the book at TJ Maxi for $16.99.

*****

Design Inspiration…

The Pinterest rabbit hole lead me to the portfolio of interior designer Lauren Muse.  Her work is stunning.  If you’re looking for some design inspiration to fuel your next home project, check out her portfolio here.

Thanks for following the blog.  I’m off to check a few more house projects off the list.

I’ll see you back here on Monday with a tour of the new Ballard Designs store here in Atlanta.
