Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a great weekend.
I’ve been busy the last few days getting ready for a visit from my mom. Since my mom’s back surgery in 2006 she hasn’t traveled much and it’s been about 7 years since her last visit to Atlanta. My uncle and his family are making a trip to Florida and my mom decided to tag along for the ride. They’ll drop her off here in Atlanta on their way and she’ll be spending a week with me and my brother. I’m so excited to see her and now that my brother is here, it’s going to be week of family fun.

Anyway, after spending the last few days cleaning, organizing and doing some restyling around the house, I thought I’d share some ideas if you’re wanting to refresh and restyle your home.
1) Move things around–try moving some of your decorative accessories and books around to give your coffee table or console table for a fresh look.
2) Rearrange your furniture–a simple switch of end tables or moving accent chairs around can give your living room a whole new feel. Walk around your house, take stock of what you have and have fun giving your home a new look with things you already own.
3) Replace a single piece or artwork with a gallery wall–artwork can make a major impact with you decor and a gallery wall display is a great way to bring a more personal feel to your decor.
4) Decorate with books–books are such a versatile decorative accessory and can be used in just about any room in your home to add layers, tell a story or serve as a backdrop for other items.
5) Rearrange your shelves–give your bookshelves a new look by adding new seasonal accessories like shells and coral, or try arranging your books by color for a fun twist.
6) Add pretty storage to the bathroom (or anywhere else for that matter)–replace plastic storage bins with decorative boxes and display vanity items on a pretty tray or in decorative dishes.
7) Organize your drawers–I’m here to tell you that a little organization can breathe new life into your decor. Not only will you rid yourself of unwanted items but having things organized will make your life easier.

8) Hang new drapes–the wrong window treatments can bring a room down and make it feel outdated and stale. Buy (or diy your own) new curtain panels to add colors, pattern and softness to your living areas. When it comes to shopping off the shelf for curtains, Overstock has a large selection of patterns, colors and lengths are great prices.
9) Paint your ceiling–a simple and cost-effective way to add color and depth to a room is by painting your ceiling.
–If you want to warm up a room, consider a color in a deeper shade
–If you have a small room and want to make it feel larger, keep the color contrast between the walls and ceilings to a minimum
–If you want to dress up a room, consider painting the ceiling with a metallic or specialty finish to add sheen
10) Refresh your front door–the appeal of your home moves from the outside in. To restyle the outside of your home, paint your front door in a bold, new color or hang a seasonal wreath or basket to give your entrance a personal feel.
11) Paint some furniture–if you have furniture you love but want a new look in your home, pull out your paint brush and change the look with a coat of paint.
12) Replace your rugs–a new rug can give any room in your home a new feel.
When it comes to ReStyling your home, it’s the little things that will make the biggest impact.
**I’ll be back tomorrow to share the results from the reader poll and some of the changes I have in store for the blog over the coming months.
