Good day to you all. I’m thrilled to see the sun out today and can’t believe that after all the snow and cold we’ve had it’s going to be 70 degrees on Friday. Madness I tell you. I am so ready for spring and nothing puts me in the mood for warmer weather more than the idea of ENTERTAINING…spring style!
I’ve been looking for new entertaining/party inspiration and came across some awesome ideas that I knew I had to share with you. And to make todays post even more thrilling, I thought I’d also share a few entertaining tips to keep in mind for your next big shin-dig!
While early spring weather may not allow you to do any entertaining outdoors you can definitely bring spring indoors with a flower infused spring inspired table setting.
Entertaining Tip: It’s always a good idea to create a theme for your décor. Use patterned plates to set the tone and replicate the flowers with bouquets that use the colors and flower variety depicted on the plates. A theme that connects the dots always results in a stylish table.
I love the idea of a bird themed party table. This color palette is so soft and pretty without being to bubble-gum and all the bird elements add so much charm and dimension.
Entertaining Tip: Create a tight color palette and then use shades of each color to add the interest and depth.
Have you ever thought about creating a paper charger for your place settings and then use that charger as a menu card? Me either! This has to be one of my favorite party décor ideas and I like it all the more because its inexpensive.
How many times have a emptied the paper shredder and thought to ‘what can I do with the shreds?’ Now I know. What a fun and creative way to create a spring nest for an Easter gathering.
Entertaining Tip: Plastic dollar store Easter eggs can be up-styled with the addition of a monogram letter. And of course fill them with candy as a party favor for your guests.
I’m always on the hunt for inexpensive yet statement party décor ideas and this Paper Flower Coaster makes the list. What a great way to add some bold impact to your table.
Entertaining Tip: Paper coasters can be used anytime of the year for any type of party. Stars for 4th of July, Bats for Halloween, Christmas Trees for Christmas. The ideas are endless.
Over the past couple of years I have developed a new-found love for carnations. They are the perfect flower to make a color statement with and they last forever. These paper cones are a unique and creative way to mark each place setting at your dinner table and they serve as a gift for your guests too!
p.s. don’t forget to use plastic water tubes to hold the stems and keep them fresh.
Ribbon as part of a party table setting is always a favorite of mine. You can easily turn an inexpensive piece of burlap or linen into a vintage inspired table runner by simply adding lengths of ribbon down the center. Charming!
Entertaining Tip: Mixing textures on your table (burlap, satin ribbon, lace ribbon, textured glassware and wood chairs) is one of the easiest ways to create a table setting that pops.
If you don’t have a collection of different dinnerware sets, then using an assorted mix of dinner napkins is a great way to bring a style statement to your table décor.
Entertaining Tip: When you buy dinner napkins, think about what you already own and how the colors and/or patterns will work together so you are creating a mix-and-match assortment that you can pull from for any occasion.
One of the best way to create a unique tablescape for your party is by getting crafty. Up-style thrift store vases with paint and rhinestone brooches. To make the vases even more versatile, attach the pin to ribbon and tie the ribbon around the vase. Remove the ribbon or change our the pin to create a different look with your vases.

This is not a quick flower arranging project but the result could be well worth the effort. The mix of fruits and flowers give this arrangement an organic and eclectic vibe.
Entertaining Tip: Add some sparkle to the fruit you use in a flower arrangement by coating the pieces with superfine sugar. How-to here!
Paper Dollies are one of my favorite crafting supplies to work with. There are so many creative ways to use a paper dollie and this dollie napkin wrap is just one!
Entertaining Tip: Whenever you dress up the silverware on the table, think about how you can incorporate a name tag or welcome message to the look. Dressed up utensils in the center of a dinner plate can be that final layer that takes your table over the top.
So, who’s ready for spring entertaining?
