Does anyone know what was going on at the Atlanta Ikea store on Saturday? WOW!
The hubs and I ventured out to Ikea at 4:30 on Saturday and were floored with the amount of people there. The store was packed to the rafters and I thought to myself, “did I miss a special event or something.” I don’t know what was going on but maybe everyone in Atlanta, trying to escape the heat, said to themselves let’s go to IKEA!
After spending more than 5 minutes searching for a cart (yes, it was that bad) we began to make our way through the store. I didn’t have any particular purchases in mind other than to pick up some cocktail and dinner napkins, but I did want to see what was new at the store. I ususally go to Ikea during the week and am able to snap lots of pictures of the things I like but with the store being so packed, picture-taking felt almost like an Olympic sport! I did manage a few photos and wanted to share them with your today (sorry for the blurry photos…I was on the move so as not to get run over by a shopping cart)!
Loved this gallery wall display which was a grouping of Fjallsta frames containing fabric pieces from Ikeas’ fabric shop. These frames are some of my favorite because the wide edge and the $14.99 pricepoint. This is a great way to create an impact wall in your home without spending a lot of money.
And, here are a few of my favorite fabrics…
Majken Fabric–$7.99/yd
Britten Nummer–$4.99/yd
Malin Vag–$6.99/yd
Stockholm Blad–$8.99/yd
Saralisa–$8.99/yd
Most, if not all the fabrics from Ikea are $8.99 or less per yard and can be ordered on-line.
I loved this rolling metal cart. The perfect addition in a kitchen, bathroom or even a craft or hobby space. I think this piece was only $49.
These natural linen covered boxes were so cute with their metal label rings on the front. They were SOLD OUT so I didn’t get to bring these babies home. There are several sizes available and they also came in black.
This cowhide footstool was so chic for IKEA. $279.00
Ikea is always a great source for inexpensive candlesticks, these silver candlesticks were all glass and are priced between $8.99 and $12.99.
I loved these white frames which almost looked like trays hung on the wall. More Ikea fabric framed.
This black oval frame is such a beautiful piece. I think it would look great as part of an eclectic gallery wall display. Or, you can have a piece og f glass cut and create a mirror. At $29.99 it is a great buy.
And finally, another item I wanted but it was sold out. These black and white tin cans would be great to store office supplies in or use as a fun box alternative for a gift. At $3.99 for the set I’ll definitely be going back to pick up a few sets!
I wish I could have snapped a few more pics to share! There are lots of new things at Ikea so if you have a store in your area it’s worth a trip. If not, check out their website as most items are available on-line.
Happy Shopping!
