Ever since the weather turned warmer I’ve been itching to do some thrift shopping. Wanting to explore new shopping spots, the hub and I have hit the road the last two weekends to explore new areas and new shops.
This past weekend we made the short drive (about 45 minutes) to Newnan and visited a couple of shops including The Bone Yard. I’ve read about The Bone Yard and have always wanted to go check it out. I mean the name alone makes it worth a road trip.
Unfortunately I only snapped a few pictures but this will give you a glimpse into this great vintage and antique shop.
The Bone Yard is a mid to high-priced antique and vintage store with lots of old salvage pieces as well.
I spotted some newer pieces as well, mostly lighting and accessories.
There were lots of glass jars and demi johns but the prices were a bit high. You can find pieces like these at Scott Antique Market for less.
I did buy one piece from The Bone Yard. This beautiful vintage bird print. I love the black mat and antique silver frame.
After we left the Bone Yard we popped into a Goodwill. Always worth checking out a new Goodwill. I lucked upon this brass tulip bowl for $3.00.
From there we stopped and few independent antique stores which proved to be more worth our time. I found some nice pieces and the prices were good.
The ironstone butter pats were less than a $1.00. There were more but the others had chips in them. Dag Nabit!
This wire basket was a great find. It was originally used to hold fabrics swatches from the Kasmir Fabric company.
I found these mini black diamond tiara urns. I purchased my first black diamond piece on my first trip to the Longest Yard Sale in 2011 and have loved it ever since.
Speaking of the Longest Yard Sale, are you going to attend this year? If you love thrift shopping and the thrill of the hunt, you don’t want to miss it. Learn more about it here!
And finally, I picked up these two brass bowls. Seems I’m on a major brass hunting expedition these days.
Not only has it been good to check out new antique and thrift stores but it’s giving the hubs and I a chance to check out parts of Georgia we’ve never seen before.
Wonder where the next road trip will take us. Stay tuned!

Thanks for sharing your finds. A weekend thrifting excursion is always good when you hit new territory. I’ve not gone to the Longest Yard sale yet (although one year I definitely plan to make it), but just heads up in my neck of the woods, we are having a 49-mile long yard sale June 6-7 and I’m excited about that.. So, if ever plan to venture to SC down past Greenville area, feel free to come shop.

Hi there,
I will definitely put this on my calendar. The hubs and I have been wanting to check out Greenville and this would give us the perfect opportunity to thrift and site see. Is there a particular starting point for the yard sale or a website with directions.
Thanks so much for sharing. I’m excited to continue my thrifting adventures in SC.
