I’ve been quite obsessed with all things Chinoiserie of late in part because it’s a design style that is super popular right now and also because I just love the eclectic feel the style lends itself too.
Chinoiserie also speaks to my love of color, vintage and bold pattern work. The Jamie Meares image above just says fun to me and really represent a collected home filled with unique treasures.
The Ralph Lauren image below is another take on Chinoiserie with a more subdues color and pattern statement but with just as much personality and visual interest.
Some of my favorite Chinoiserie styled decorative elements include blue and white pottery, bamboo styled furniture, mirror and lighting and also Asian motif pillows.

Recently I went on the hunt for some Chinoiserie pillows for our bedroom. I started my search on Etsy and was thrilled to see that there are lots of pillows available on the site.
One of the things I like about shopping on Etsy is that you can get handcrafted items in designer fabrics for a great price. I also like that shopping Etsy is a way to support independent artist and small businesses, many of which are run out of the home.
Here’s just a sampling of the pillows I found…
CHINOISERIE PILLOWS ON ETSY
I love this blue and white pattern and like that it would mix well with other patterns and colors. And the price is really good!
Michael Miller Blue and White Floral Pillow–$28.00 18″ sq
Another beautiful blue and white pillow. The pattern is as dense at the first pillow and so this would great combined with stripes, a larger floral or a geometric pattern.
Pagoda Garden Pillow–$28.50-16″ sq /$30.00-18″ sq
I’m really drawn to this pillow because of the black accents. It would work with the black already in our bedroom and I would love it with the gold accents in the room.
Floral Chinoiserie Pillow–$42.00 17″ sq
This blue and green pillow is really pretty. The artwork is a bit distressed so the image feels like a vintage print.
Teahouse Green and Blue Chinoiserie–$28.00 to $55.00 depending on size
I love the red accents in this pillow (red is my favorite color) and could see this pillow combined with neutrals and aqua.
Neo Toile Coral Pillow Cover–$40.00 t0 $50.00 depending on size
The black background on this pillow really makes these colors pop and would be fun mixed with other black and white pillow patterns.
Black Chinoiserie Pillow–$33.00 to $44.00 depending on size
I’ve always been a fan of chartreuse and love the colors in this pillow. It’s another one that could mix with black and white easily.
Scalamandre China Rose Pillow Cover–$70.00 to $90.00 depending on size
The whole Chinoiserie trend started with this Chiang Mai pattern. There are a lot of different color ways of the design available and it’s still a favorite of mine. I love the big flowers and all the colors. A great accent pillow for bedrooms and living rooms.
Ebony Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon Pillow Cover–$32.00 to $125.00 depending on size
If you have a love for Chinoiserie like I do, you might want to check out Etsy for pillows, accessories, lighting and furniture.
