Today’s daily dose of design is all about unique wall decor, one of the easiest ways to personalize your home!
Whenever I’m working on a design project, I love looking beyond traditional framed art to decorate the walls. Mirror groupings, framed fabrics and decorative plate collections are a few of my favorite wall decor statements.
If you want to do something unique with your walls, keep these tips in mind:
- A grouping of items can feel more custom than a single or double pair or artwork. Use a mix of wall decor items to really make the statement personal.

- Shaped mirrors, hung as a collection will not only enhance the light within the room, but will expand the visual size of the space.

- Decorative plates are an inexpensive way to add drama to your walls. And, in a pinch, you can take them down and use them for serving.

- Framing wallpaper or fabric pieces is a great way to infuse patternwork into your wall decor statement. Framing a pattern or two used in other parts of the room (pillows, window treatments), will tie your look together.

I love using empty frames as wall decor. Whether your hang something inside the frame (above), or leave them empty you’ll create a great look.
I really love the photo below where all the frames have been painted white–a great way to unify different frame styles.

Framed botanicals look great when hung in mass. And for a bit of added style, the candle sconces were added to the mix.
