WOW….How many of you saw the season premier of Oprah yesterday? I can’t believe this is her last season.
I have watched Oprah, and been one of her biggest fans since day one. I have been a faithful subscriber to O magazine, O at Home and have purchased every one of her books.
Before the world of TiVo and DVR, I recorded every Oprah show on a Sony VHS tape. That VHS tape still sits in the recorder of a small TV I have, just in case my COMCAST DVR does not record one day.
When I was younger, people often told me I resembled Oprah. Today, a few years later, (ok, maybe it’s more like 20 years), I hear the comment every now and then, mostly from my husband and my mom. Everytime I hear those words, I just smile. In my opinion, this is one of the best compliments a girl could ever receive.

For 20+ years, I have let it be known to all that would listen, that one day I would be on the Oprah show. It has always been a dream of mine! I have spent countless hours dialing the ticket line in hopes of getting tickets to a show, I’ve emailed Oprah about events in my life, hoping that would warrant a show appearance and I’ve even tried to work my connections in Chicago. But, so far no luck.
As I watched the season premier, all I kept thinking was, “I’m one of Oprah’s biggest fans, and I should have been on that show.” As the show came to an end, the only thing that ran through my mind was, “I only have months left to make my dream come true.”
So beginning today, my quest to be on the Oprah show kicks into full gear. I plan to email the show every day, letting Oprah know why I admire her so much, why I’ve been a faithful follower of her and the show, why I’d love the opportunity to meet her, and most importantly,
WHY I WANT TO BE ON THE OPRAH SHOW!
Over the months to come, I’ll share my emails to Oprah with you and let you know the status of my quest. Until then, my mantra will be…
Oprah or Bust!
p.s. Feel free to write a letter to Oprah, on my behalf, letting her know how much I want to be on the show. (In other words…help me beg!) Until next time….
