DIY Wall Clock

DIY Clock by ConfettiStyle2

Boy how time flies…

This post is long overdue partly because it has taken me forever to complete this project (never enough time in the day) and because I inadvertently deleted all of the tutorial photos to show you how I made it.  Despite all of that, I’m excited to share this fun and easy project I made.

It all started with some wood and a desire to make a clock.

While on a trip to Alabama to visit my brother-in-law a couple of months ago, I cut the wood strips, stained them using Minwax and created the clock shape using a thrifted clock as the base..

Once that was done I went on the hunt for numbers for the clock.  I looked while shopping the Longest Yard Sale, at local antique stores and at Home Depot.  No luck!

One day while surfing Etsy I came across the perfect metal numbers in the size and style I was looking for.

A quick coat of spray paint ( ok, two–first gold and then black) and the numbers were ready to attach to the clock.

My woodworking skills are not off the charts yet, but I’m beginning to love power tools and I’m thrilled with how my clock turned out.

p.s.  I used a little Rub-n-Buff in antique gold to finish the outside edge.
