Back in August I took on my first e-design project. The client wanted a traditional office with a touch of whimsy, decorated in teal, yellow and white. This is the design plan I came up.
* Accent Wall (desk wall) painted in 8″ teal and white stripes–Benjamin Moore Forget Me Not and Simply White. Adding stripes to a wall is a great way to add style and impact, especially in a smaller space.
* White Furniture–Desk, Storage Cabinet and Bookcases. There will be a bookcase flanking each side of the desk. White furniture keeps the office feeling modern and feminine.
* Cane Back Desk Chair painted Benjamin Moore Peacock Blue and upholstered in a teal and white cross diamond pattern. A painted chair is a great way to add a punch of color to any space in your home.
* Yellow Area Rug–The rug will be placed over hardwood floor to add softness and color. I love the delicate lattice like pattern on this rug.
* The office will be accented in brass with both the desk lamp and the cabinet lamp in brass with white shades. The sunburst mirror is finished in an antique brass finish. Brass is a great way to add a traditional touch to transitional/modern space.
* On the wall opposite the desk will sit an oversized yellow chair. Decorative pillows will accent the chair. Every office space needs a comfy chair.
* Leaf and Tree art will hang above the side chair. A touch contemporary but very classic.
* A linen pin board will be hung above the desk, between the bookcases. Function can and should be pretty.
I’ve also speced some fun office accessories to complete the space.
The color theme for this space is one of my favorites. The combination of teal and yellow is so fresh and modern and all the white keeps the space light and airy.
Thanks Kathy for being my first Door-To-Door client. It was such a pleasure to design this fabulous space for you!
