So, how many of you will be hosting holiday parties in the coming weeks? I don’t have any parties planned but I do have several holiday events we’ll be attending already on the calendar.
If you love to entertain during the holidays, one of the areas you should really focus on is the presentation of the food you serve.
Serving yummy food is essential to a great party and how you present that food is a key component to the decor for your event.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you begin planning your holiday events…
CREATE A DRINK STATION
Creating a drink station separate from the food is always a good idea for a party. A separate beverage station will keep people moving around versus clogging up the food table.
A carafe is a great way to display and serve a variety of drinks and the bottle can easily be identified with hanging tags.
DISPLAY FOOD ON RISERS
I don’t know what it is, but party food displayed on a riser always looks more scrumptious and elegant than food just placed on the table surface.
While you can use just about anything to elevate food, use a similar mix of items so that you create a design theme for the table.
ARRANGE FOOD IN A CREATIVE WAY
Even simple party food like veggies can become a statement with artfully arranged in a basket of try.
PERSONALIZE YOUR FOOD WITH INDIVIDUAL PORTIONS
Individual food portions are a great way to not only control the food portions served at a party but the mini dishes will feel more personalized and special.
OFFER DESSERTS TO STAY OR TAKEAWAY
Just like a beverage bar, a separate dessert area is a fun way to personalize your party and keep your guest moving and mingling.
Build a dessert station that encourages your guest to grab a treat or create desserts to go to be enjoyed later and serve as a party favor.
Personalizing your holiday party is all about the details and the special touches you incorporate into the food, decor and even invitations.
Let the party season begin!

Great ideas! I love the cookie bar as a takeaway. I usually have one main dessert and all sorts of different cookies I make. It never occurred to me to use the cookies as a takeaway.
