One of my favorite ways to wrap gifts is using embellishments instead of, or in combination with ribbon.  I love using items that add dimension and bring gift wrap to life.  I have a basket full of odds and ends that I’ve picked up at clearance sales that I use when wrapping gifts.  Embellishment can be anything from ornaments and jewelry to button or crafting materials.  Use whatever you have to make your gift extra special.

Since I had a few gifts to wrap for spring, I decided that a perfect way to give them a spring touch was with flowers and birds.

Once I wrapped my boxes with my chosen paper, I used hot glue to attach the flowers and a decorative bird to the top.  You’ll find some of prettiest faux birds in the wedding section of your local craft store.

The red bird I used on this gift is actually a Christmas ornament I picked up at 80% off.  I removed the look from the cap and inserted a flower petal to cover it up.
