Great design tip Shelly. My biggest pet peeve is seeing a tv on top of a fireplace. It’s not only the focal point but it’s just too high to comfortably watch! Love your posts!

I love the wood planks behind the tv. It never occurred to me to put anything behind one. Now that my eyes have been opened I’ll be thinking of the right thing to go behind ours. Having the shelves behind the tv is a great idea, too. Yesterday in one of the links it showed a picture and talked about having chairs or a chair and a couch that have backs of different heights. I’ve always wondered about that. Right now our gigantic sectional leaves no room for a chair but when we move and can add a chair it worried me because the back of the sectional is so low. I learn something new every day from you that applies to my life. Thank you, Shelly! I get your posts emailed every day and it’s a must read for me.

I like how in the second photo the thick black frames look with the tv in the center. That really makes the tv not stand out so much
