Happy Monday! Can you believe it is already August? This year has just flown by and before you know it, we’ll all be putting out pumpkins and decorating for Christmas. I don’t know about you but I need life to slow down just a bit!
This weekend I tried to slow the pace a bit and spent a little time surfing the web looking for inspiration. One of the things I came across on Pinterest was a collection of beautiful spaces, all with one thing in common, a touch of gold.
So while we can’t slow down the calendar, we can start the week off on a good note and take time to savor these beautiful images. Sit back, relax and be inspired!
A gold top and base are such a great way to glam up a piece of furniture.
Mirrors are one of the essential accessory pieces that everyone should incorporate into their decor and when you have the chance to hang multiple mirrors, go for it. The effect is stunning.
We’ve all seen vintage beds painted with chalk paint but I love the idea of raising the bar and going for the gold. This bed looks like a million buck (and so do those nightstands).
Even though it might be time consuming, the idea of a bookshelf full of gold books sounds pretty great. If you’re looking to add impact to your shelves or coffee table, wrapping your books is a great way to do it.
I’ve always said that every room needs a touch of sparkle and painting your nightstands metallic gold will fit the fill.
Bathrooms can be so boring but vinyl dots on the wall will change that in a hurry.
Gold spray paint can turn even the simplest things into something spectacular. I know I’ll never look at wire baskets the same after seeing this photo.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw this kitchen island. What a great way to Up-Sytle a generic metal island. And don’t even get me started on that rug {DIY it using a piece of canvas and this stencil}
Another great DIY application for a thrift store cabinet.
A fresh take on a gold stripe.
This is so not my personal style but wow!
The next time you’re looking for something to do with that gold duck tape!
This bench reminds me how easy it is to transform a piece of furniture with just a touch of gold.
Now that’s a whole lot of gold eye candy!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Shelly! Thank you so much for mentioning us! We really appreciate it over here at Royal Design Studio and Wallternatives! Those gold polka dot wall decals are flying off our shelves especially for dorm decorating!

I can always count on you for some design inspiration Shelly! Love the bench with such simple yet elegant gold lines. The black hall console with gold mirrors is so rich looking. I have a black and gold checkered mirror in my hall and I am getting ready to have my bifold coat closet doors painted black and adding brass door handles. That’s the look in the picture I am going for!
Best,
Elaine
