It’s Back to School Time–The Grown Up Edition

Am I the only one that gets excited when back to school time hits?  Even though I’ve been out of school for a long, long time, I just love when the school supplies, school bags, locker accessories and all cute clothes hit the racks and shelves of stores.  You see, I have reason why I love back to school time so much.  My mom was a teacher for 27 years and every year I’d spend time helping her cut designs out of construction paper and then we’d decorate her classroom bulletin boards and get her books ready.

My mom and I would spend a couple days shopping for new clothes and back to school accessories and I would spend hours and hours picking our just the right ‘first day outfit’.  Back to school was an exciting time in my household.

This time of year the inner child in me wants to relive the first day of school all over again where I could sport a fancy new dress and jewelry and carry a cute bag,  lunch tote and cool packs.

And when it comes to school supplies, I’m all about stylish polka dot,   monogrammed and striped notebooks, crisp lined paper and a pretty pencil case.  And my ruler would have to be a chic acrylic ruler.

And if I had a locker to decorate I’d decorate it with pretty wallpaper, a mirror and a mini chandelier. And then I really get fancy and add bright accessories, a cool corkboard and a zebra print faux fur rug

The inner child in me loves back-to-school time…

so don’t be surprised if you run into me and I’m wearing a new dress, carrying a cute pencil case and a stylish notebook.
