I’m in the process of putting together our Thanksgiving table and one of the elements I wanted to include was Glitter Stripe Taper Candles. I usually burn pillar candles as part of any table setting I create but I love the look of taper candles as part of the centerpiece.
Making these striped candles is really easy and super quick.
I started with some classic white taper candles I purchased at The Longest Yard Sale for .25 cents for 6.
To create my stripes or in my case diagonal stripes, I wrapped the candles in black electrical tape. You can used painters tape also, I just didn’t have any in a narrow width on hand.
Once the candles were taped off I coated the open areas with Martha Stewart Art & Crafts Glue and sprinkled on Martha Stewart Gold Glitter.
Once dry I removed the electrical tape and my candles were done.
Easy peasy!
I’ll show you my completed Thanksgiving table next week.
p.s. These candles are for decorative use only because most loose glitters are flammable. If you want to create candles that can be burned, use pillar candles since the flame burn down the center of the candle and the heat will not come in contact with the glitter.

I would have never thought to use electrical tape! Somehow we have several rolls of it and now I know what I can use it for. Your candles are beautiful!
