When I shared my Inspiration Notebook at the beginning of the month, one of the things I told you about was my plans to outline my 2015 Christmas decor theme. Well, during one of my sleepless nights recently the vision came it me.
I want to keep our Christmas decor simple this year since we will most likely be going out-of-town for the holiday. I also want to use red as the foundation of the theme since it’s a classic holiday color and just so happens to be my favorite color. And finally I want to include a few designer touches to make the decor special. So are you wondering what the theme for 2016 is….
Here’s how I’m planning to execute the theme…
The Tree: with the ‘keep it simple’ motto, my tree will be a decorated with a collection of red and monogram ornaments I bought from Pottery Barn last year at 50% off and accents of animal print ribbon.
The Gift Wrap: gifts will be wrapped in different styles of red wrapping paper with black, red and animal print ribbon. And of course I’ll have some fun embellishments on the gifts too.
The Gift Wrap: I’ll also wrap some gifts in white paper with red ribbon for bright pop under the tree.
The Details: I’ve got a few DIY projects planned including handmade gift tags, a wreath for the front door, my dining table centerpiece and a little outfit for my dress form.
And my UpStyled fur trim Christmas stockings will be back this year.
I’m nowhere near ready for the holiday season to be here but it’s fun to think about decorating for the season and good to have a plan in place.
So, I hate to ask this given that Fall isn’t even here yet, but have you thought about your Christmas decorating plans this year? If so, I’d love to hear your plans.

Great idea! And you are SO on top of things if you’ve already got that planned out! I don’t even know what I’m doing for labor day! LOL!
Can’t wait to see it put together!

Oh my goodness, you are on the ball. I love the theme. Animal print will always be a favorite for me. The next time you watch the movie To Kill A Mockingbird, notice the neighbor is wearing an animal print wrap dress. Thanks for sharing. I need to get going on my Christmas plans.
