My Day At Scott Antique Market

Good Morning all!

This past weekend I visited one of my favorite places, Scott Antique Market and spent some time snapping a few photos to give you an idea of all the goodness that Scott has to offer. While I didn’t take as many pictures as I wanted, ’cause taking photos and shopping at the same time is a hard task, I did manage to uncover some great items.

As I’ve mentioned before, Scott Antique Market is an emporium of high-end antiques and collectibles, all types of vintage items and a little junk thrown into the mix. You name it, and you can probably find it at Scott!

I attend Scott just about every month and usually the only things on my shopping list, when not shopping for a client, is vintage furniture hardware for my jewelry creations, vintage home decor for my Etsy shop and vintage handbags to add to my personal collection. Sometimes I’ll come across an item that really entices me, like this vintage sled below. I thought the sled was so adorable and it brought back so many memories from my childhood winters in Washington State. I was on the brink of purchasing it for $25 until my friend Tina reminded me that I now live in Atlanta where snow is a rarity! She also made me think twice by reminding me that I had a husband at home who just might think I was crazy if I walked in the door with a sled.

So, I passed on the sled and continued trolling around Scott.

This gorgeous chair stopped me in my tracks. Made in the US and only $625 I thought this was a great piece. I took notes on it and think a pair just might work for a client project.

Here’s a love seat by the same vendor. The skirt was done in burlap and the upper in a 100% cotton linen-look so the slight contrast gave this piece even more personality.

You can find vintage luggage pieces all over Scott. I loved this stacked display by a vendor.

I have a bit of a weakness for lamps, especially when the shade is this cute. It’s details like this that really count.

Scott is one of my favorite places to look for vintage jewelry. This artist made this necklace from vintage crystal earrings and glass beads. So lovely!

While there are a lot of very expensive antique pieces at Scott, sometimes you’ll run across a great value. This glass front buffet was on $2200 and was in incredible shape. The drawers were all dove tailed, the glass beveled and the inside shelves all have plate grooves.

Design is in the details! Furniture makers back in the day were such masters of their craft.

I’m on the lookout for a vintage scale and plan to search for one during my Longest Yard Sale trip. This one was nice but not the style I am looking for.

I loved this oversized hurricane! Perfect for a screened in Southern porch.

Scott has a boat load of painted furniture to choose from. This simply dining table and chairs was finished in a white wash and upholstered in a blue linen!

Ok, who else thinks this starburst mirror is fab?? I love the combo of silver and copper!

I’m always inspired by the cute vignettes the vendors create at Scott. Here’s a rustic vignette glammed up with a little mercury glass!

I thought this wood sofa was beautiful. I especially love the spoke and brace detailing.

Here’s another sofa that caught my eye. Painting the frame a color versus a stained wood was really refreshing. And, check out the burlap cording used around the back! Such a stunning piece.
