Happy October 15th. I hope your weekend was filled with splendid adventures!
I started my weekend a bit early and headed to Scott Antique Market on Thursday. The market is now officially open to the public on Thursdays at 1:00 and everyone, including myself took advantage of the earlier shopping day.
I spotted lots of great pieces at Scott and walked away with a couple for myself.
WHAT I SAW:
Loved these mixed linen upholstered parson chairs!
This patchwork hair with the cowhide back was incredible. A true work of art.
I was so tempted to buy this tinsel tree with the revolving colored light. It so reminded me of my childhood.
This arrangement was stunning with gigantic horns and pinecones as the centerpiece.
These metal chairs were pretty cool and would look great around a kitchen table (the comfort however leaves something to be desired)!
This rehabed chair from Parker Kennedy was stunning. A new paint job and some gorgeous fabric were all it took to recreate this beauty.
The assortment of crystal chandelier accents is never-ending at Scott.
This set of vintage chairs was just waiting for a makeover!
I so wanted to by this wood chest and could image all my jewelry supplies being stored inside…that was until the vendor said it was $425! Way overpriced!
This art deco cabinet was a great buy at $200, including the marble inset top.
WHAT I BOUGHT:
Shopping Scott does not always yield great finds but this trip I was able to scored a few goodies:
I scored this awesome vintage gumball machine with a solid copper base! This is a great accessory piece for bookcases or a tabletop. I think it would look great with colorful marbles inside.
I picked up a few paper clock faces. These will be fun for scrapbooking, crafting and clock making of course!
This brass tray was a steal!
I picked up these vintage lemon juicers just because I thought they were pretty cool.
This set of mini ( 4″ x 3″) botanical plates was a great find.
And I was thrilled to come across lots of tassel necklaces. Just so happens that tassels and jewelry are two of my obsessions!
On Saturday I spent the day with my friend Karen. We hit a couple of local shops and lunched at the same restaurant as a couple of celebrities. I snapped lots of inspiring photos which I’ll share with you tomorrow.
Sunday was a work day, prepping for upcoming design workshops, preparing a business proposal and catching up on a few mags, including the latest issue of Country Living. And, speaking of Country Living, I have some awesome news I’ll be sharing in the next couple of weeks that involves their Christmas issue so stay tuned!
