SIX Essential Travel Accessories

 I’m already preparing for my trip next week to Washington DC which tells you how excited I am about going to visit my brother, see the city and hopefully see the Cherry Blossom tress in full bloom.

After many years of traveling both domestically and to the far east I’ve pretty much mastered the art of packing and traveling.  One of the things I do to make packing easy is to always have my toiletry bag stocked and ready to go. I fill it with smaller sizes of all the items I use.  The other thing I do to make traveling more relaxing is to pack a few travel essentials.  There are SIX TRAVEL ESSENTIALS that you’ll always find in my bag.

No. 1 –I always pack a compact umbrella just in case.  It’s not fun to be stuck in a city without an umbrella when it rains.  And I don’t have proof of this but I swear the minute it rains stores increase the price of their umbrellas because they know people will come rushing in to buy them.

No. 2  I’ve had a Lodis credit card case for years and it’s the perfect travel wallet to hold a license, credit cards, travel cards and paper money.  {tip: when you travel, especially out of the country make sure to take your health insurance card with you}

No. 3  My Coach crossbody bag is my favorite travel bag.  It’s lightweight, stylish and it holds a ton of stuff despite its compact size.  I can easily throw it over my shoulder and have my hands free for picture-taking or shopping.

No.4  When I travel by air I always carry a coin purse with me to hold dollar bills and coins.  I use the dollar bills for tips and subways and a coin purse makes it easy to get access to the money without having to pull out my full wallet.

No. 5  A oversized scarf is a must when I travel.  I am always cold and having something to throw over my shoulders keeps me warm especially on a chilly plane ride.  {tip:  if you’re looking for a lightweight travel size throw, check out the kids department or Pottery Barn kids for stylish throws}

No. 6 Being that shopper that I am, I always travel with a fold-up tote bag in case I over-shop and can’t fit it all into my luggage.

    Great tips. Love the coin purse idea. Thanks for the insurance card tip. Going to Europe in September. Have fun with your brother, can’t wait to see his space once you’re finished.
