Easy DIY Monogrammed Napkins {under $10 and under 10 minutes}

DIY Monogram Dinner Napkins.001

Ever since I moved to the South I’ve been smitten with the charm and style of monogrammed decor.  I especially love incorporating monograms into my tablescape designs whether its barware like this, glassware like this or plates like these.

When I was creating my blue and white table which I shared with you yesterday, I realized I wanted to incorporate red monogrammed napkins.  I already had the napkins on hand but didn’t want to pay a lot of money to have them monograms.  A quick trip to Hobby Lobby and the problem was solved.

Here’s what it took to make DIY Monogrammed Napkins…

Blue and White Tablesetting

Supplies:

Embroidered Iron-On Script Letter–$1.39 ea (available in white and black, online and in stores)

And then the hard work starts….spend about 5 minutes ironing the embroidered letter on to each napkin!

If you love the look of a three-letter monogram, I noticed the other day that Hobby Lobby is now selling an iron-on version.  The letters are packed by position (left, middle and right) and sold separately so you’ll spend $4.47 ( without a coupon) to create your monogram.  As my luck would have it, they were all sold out of S and M which is something I run into all the time.

With this easy and inexpensive DIY process you can create monogrammed napkins in a load of colors to match all your entertaining decor.

Happy Crafting and Happy Entertaining!

Fresh Market

Have you ever gone shopping at your local grocery store for anything other than groceries?  Probably not, but I’m hoping that these ideas will have you looking at your grocery store in a whole new way.

 # 1  FLOWERS are a no-brainer when it comes to grocery store shopping but I don’t think most of us make the most of the flower we buy.

Grocery Store Flowers

flower buying tips:

instead of buying a mixed floral bouquet, buy a variety of single bunches and create your own custom arrangement

if you’re buying one large mixed flower bouquet, split it up and create several mini arrangements to place around your home (more bang for your buck)

buy greens which will add substance, dimension and visual contrast amongst the flowers

grocery stores often sell orchids for less than you can find them at the garden stores or a flower shop

mix fruit in with your flowers to create robust flower arrangements

Lifes Little Luxuries

Happy Friday!

Besides splurging on cute paper napkins for dining and fun wood pencils for my desk, I also have a thing for beautiful bath towels.  One of my favorite sources for luxury towels in Peacock Alley.  Not only are their towels lush and soft but their textured towels are some of the prettiest you’ll ever see.

I recently purchased a few of these beauties below.

Investing in luxury bath towels is wise because you’ll enjoy them more, they will last longer than thinner, value priced towels and they are great way to add UpStyle to your bathroom.

Stylish Bedding

I love the look of a bed that has been dressed in layers which requires a set of stylish sheets.

Usually my first stop for patterned sheet sets is HomeGoods but recently I started shopping Pottery Barn Teen for bedding. Because I don’t have kids, I never really considered PB Teen a source for adult bedding but after seeing all of their new collections, I’ve changed my mind.

Not only does PB Teen has a wonderful range sheet patterns, but many of their styles are also available in duvet covers.

You know I love black and white so this look is right on target for me.

All of the styles above are from the girl’s collection but I also found several sheet sets in the boy’s collection that I love.

These plaids are right on trend for fall and winter and could easily be mixed with the dots and ikat patterns to create a really eclectic look.

This grouping of plaids is probably my favorite because of the crisp pattern detail.
The next time you’re shopping for sheets, make sure to stop by PB Teen.  You’ll be surprised at what they have to offer.
