I did something last week that I haven’t done in a very long time. On Friday the hubs and I met up with my friend Montina and her husband JP at Scott Antique Market. Guys, I haven’t been to the market is over a year and was so happy to carve some time out of my schedule to finally make it back.
Shopping Scott Antique Market is one of my favorite things to do. The market is open in Atlanta the second weekend of every month and shopping it always leaves me inspired and lighter in the pocket book. I did buy a few small items and spotted a couple of furniture pieces that might work in our house.
Let me show you the goodies I saw…
There’s one dealer at the market that always has beautiful displays. Most of the items are not vintage or antique but have a rustic and weathered feel to them. I loved the look of this galvanized pedestal with a simple wreath and metal vase on top. This is a great centerpiece piece idea that you could immolate with items you already have at home.
Given the popularity of bamboo and rattan furniture, I wasn’t surprised to see lots of it at Scott Antique Market. The first piece I spotted was this flared armchair. It was so comfy and is perfect for a bohemian design style.
Here’s are two classic design bamboo chairs that would look great as part of dining table ensemble.
This cute bamboo demilune table would be perfect in a small entrance or hallway.
The market is a great place to find unique side tables or coffee tables.
I feel in love with these mirrored light fixtures. The chandelier is not too large and would look great in an office or hanging over a bathtub. And I can envision a pair of the wall sconces in a dining room flanking a mirror.
You’ll always find vintage and antique crystal lighting at Scott. This tabletop crystal fixture was really stunning.
One of the things I love looking at most at the market are the beautiful furniture pieces, specifically the cabinets and drawer units. This trip did not disappoint. There were lots of rustic, farmhouse styles featuring mixed materials and carved wood appliqués.
I saw lots of pieces with this iron latch detail. It continues to be a hot design trend.
If there was one piece I wish I could have brought home, it was this bamboo detail cabinet. It was beauty but very overpriced!
Lots of garden stools and pottery including blue and chinoiserie in every shape and size.
We walked around outdoors but after about 10 minutes the pollen starting getting to me so we headed back in doors. The outside vendors are where you can find some really unique pieces and the dealers are more willing to wheel and deal on price.
Spotted this acrylic spiral piece. I’m assuming it’s a paper/stationery holder but it would also look good as a bookcase accessory.
These African baskets were a hot commodity. The colors were just amazing. I pondered where I would use one in my house but couldn’t come up with a workable option. The dealer will be there next month so maybe.
My friend Montina and I both loved these chairs. At first glance they looked like they were made of rubber or a pliable material but upon closer inspection they are made of metal.
Here are the two pieces that we are considering for our house. These grey swivel chairs were comfy, well priced and we like the fabric. I’m going to think of them until next market before I pull the trigger.
This bench is a definite. It’s the perfect dimensions, a great quality and good price. The manufacturer is located in NC and I’m going to have them make a custom piece with my own fabric on it.
I’m so thrilled I was finally able to make time to get back to Scott Antique Market and I’m already looking forward to next month.
If you live in or near Atlanta and love to shop for antique and vintage items, I definitely recommend Scott Antique Market.
I’ll be back later this week to show you a few pieces I picked up at Scott and from one of my favorite flea markets.
