I love conceptualizing beautiful tablescapes and finding the unique elements that bring my vision to life.

For my fall table this year, I’m dreaming of blue and white decor with pops of orange and accents of wood.  I want the table to have a rustic but elegant feel with a vintage vibe.  Here’s how I see the table coming together…

The foundation to every entertaining table is the floral centerpiece. The combination of blue hydrangea, roses and berry branches is so pretty.

tip: whenever you’re creating a floral arrangement for your table, use flowers in colors that tie all the colors on the table together.

These blue and white floral plates have the vintage feel I want and the gold details add the elegant touch.  I can also see this plate mixing easily with solid white or dark navy dinnerware for a different look. Whenever I buy tabletop pieces, I buy items that will work in a variety of ways to create different looks.  p.s. I spotted this Nautical Tisbury Dinnerware Set which is more budget friendly and more on the casual side.

I couldn’t believe it when I spotted this gorgeous wood charger at Pier 1.  The finish and carved details make it look more expensive than its $24.99 price point.  Besides using it for fall, I can envision it mixed with tartan plaid dinnerware as part of a rustic Christmas tablescape.

You can’t beat the price of this gold flatware set from Target ($19.99–5 pc.) I love the shiny finish and classic styling which make it great for everyday use as well as special occasion entertaining.

Have you noticed that acrylic stemware has home a long way in recent years?  Years ago you could only find casual styles meant for picnics or casual outdoor entertaining. Today, the styling and quality have evolved and now it’s hard to tell whether a piece is glass or plastic until you pick it up.  This smoke colored stemware from Pier 1 has just enough blue in it that it pairs beautifully with the dinnerware.

I use table runners more than tablecloths when I’m entertaining.  Runners give you more versatility and if you place several across the width of the table, they can substitute for placemats under each pacesetting.  This navy and white runner is a classic and will work for just about every decorating season during the year.  p.s.  you could easily diy your own version of this runner too.

A person can never has too many dinner napkins in my book and these chic orange trimmed monogram napkins are just the pop of orange the table needs.  Plus they will look great mixed with blue and white.

What’s not to love about these orange embossed napkin rings with gold rim detail?  They are the perfect complement to the dinner napkins and will add another pop of orange to the table.  p.s.  the napkin rings also come in navy (yes!), white and ivory and are on clearance for $13.56 for a set of 4. #rundon’twalk

In recent years I’ve gravitated towards decorating with white pumpkins because of their decorating versatility.  I usually buy them from a craft stores but not any more. I found this set of ceramic pumpkins in the most unexpected online stores–Oriental Trading.  They are listed as DIY pumpkins so you can craft any look you want or you can leave them as is and use them for both fall and Thanksgiving.  By the way, they are just $15 for the set of 3.

The final element for the fall table I envision is blue and white ginger jars. I’d combine a few jars with the white pumpkins and flower arrangement to fill the center of the table.  p.s.  If you’re having a hard time finding blue and white jars, I spotted this temple jar and this lidded jar, both at a great price.

I’m looking forward to decorating for fall so stay tuned because I’ll be creating this tablescape (or something similar) in just a few weeks.
