Color Trend: Pops of Pink

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.

My weekend was a little low-key with lots of time spent working on a design project, a little thrift shopping and lunch out with the hubby on Sunday afternoon.

I thought I’d drop in today and share a few photos of a color that is showing up more and more in the design world these days…PINK!

Once reserved only for little girls rooms, Pink, in different tones and shades is becoming a sophisticated color to decorate with. While the femininity of pink cannot be ignored, mixed with classic colors, dark tones, lots of white or off-beat colors, Pink takes on a whole new feel.

I love how the pink chairs in this classic blue and white room give it a more energy and life.  Notice how the pink shows up in a couple other places as well ( chandelier shades, curtain tie-backs), making it an intentional addition to the decor.

Surrounded by black and white, this pink sofa is totally chic!  The black piping takes it from utterly feminine to a modern classic.

The deeper shade of pink used in this closet keeps it feminine but with a sophisticated edge.  What girl wouldn’t love this space!

Southern style with an updated feel!. The combination of green wicker furniture and pink toile fabric give this space a happy, updated feel.

If you love pink and really want to create a stylish space, just add grey.  Touches of black thrown in will make the space even “richer” looking.

A  pop of pink can go a long way.  Introducing pink via accent chairs it a great way to add the energy of the color without overwhelming the decor.

Love the dark charcoal sofas with pink accent pillows. Just enough of the color to add an elegant vibe.

Mixed with lots of white (above and below), pink is so refreshing!  Layering different shades of pink together, as in the bookcases below, makes the room more interesting and dimensional.

Going for a preppy look….combine pink and orange together and surround it with lots of white.

A more lavender version of pink combined with dark grey is so sophisticated.  Punches of other bright colors enhance the contemporary feel of the room.

To create a more formal and elegant look using pink, combine ivory and champagne colors with dustier shades of pink.

And, for a fun and energetic room, black and primary colors combine with pink will do the trick.

So what do you think, has pink gone for being just a “baby color” to a “new classic color” to decorate with?

Wishing you all good things for the week ahead!
