Gift Wrap Inspiration

Several years ago I created a Countdown Christmas Gift Holder for my mom.

Every year, I shop for little treasures to give her for Christmas, wrap then and send them to her in late November to put in her gift holder.  Starting December 1st and everyday thru the December 24th she gets to unwrap a gift a day and  celebrate Christmas.

This year I decided to wrap all her gifts in gift sacks that I added a little razzle dazzle to.  One of my favorite parts of wrapping is adding embellishments and plain gift bags give me the perfect palette to work with.

I’ve got a handful (ok, alot) of gifts still to wrap, but here are a few of the bags I’ve finished!

Lots of ribbon, dollies, tags and washi tape!

I used decorative scissors to trim the edge of the bag and then glued a paper dollie and vintage postcard to the front.  I added black and white satin ribbon to the top for a little flair.

The postcard is from a stack of vintage postcards I bought  at a flea market a few months ago, most dating back to the early 1900’s.

For this white gift bag I added a strip of decorative paper down the center, layered on a piece of sheet music and then added a layered gift tag.

The top is embellished with a gold and white diamond print satin ribbon and a faux holly sprig!

I used strips of washi tape at the bottom of this gift bag and then added some paper embellishments.

After I punched the hole in the top of the bag I added white hole protectors to make the hole stand out.

On the side of the bag I added one of those plastic file folder label holders, which by the way I somehow have amassed lifetime supply of.

This last bag was decorated with bits and pieces of craft stuff I had on hand, a clothespins and ribbon of course.

It feels goods to have some things already checked of the Christmas list and even better to spend a little time wrapping!

Cheers!
