It Was Breathtaking

I hope everyone had a great Memorial day weekend.  Mine was fantastic for several reasons:

  1. I got the stack of papers on my desk under control…
  2. I caught up on a little magazine reading, and…
  3. I had the opportunity to spend a little time at Camp Boxwoods.

Camp Boxwoods, located in Madison, GA is the weekend retreat of Randy and Dan, the owners of one of my all time favorite stores here in Atlanta, Boxwoods Gardens and Gifts!

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Camp Boxwoods and have seen pictures of the property in magazines, so when the opportunity for me to attend their Memorial Day BBQ came up, I was thrilled to pieces.

My friend Karen invited the hubby and I along for the adventure and let me just tell you it was beyond spectacular!

Here’s Karen at the entrance to the side yard.

Set amongst 120 acres, this gorgeous house is the first thing you see when you wind your way up the gravel road and across the beautifully landscaped bridge.

Since parking was a short distance away from the house, a horse and carriage were available to take you on a leisurely ride up the road.  Such Southern Charm!

The property is surrounded by two ponds, lush greenery and beautiful flower beds.

A deck at one of edge of the pond created the perfect spot for relaxing in the sun.

Here’s the hubby soaking in all the beauty! And Karen and I enjoying the day.

We toured the vegetable garden which was overflowing with lettuce, cabbage, corn and herbs.

The cabbage was the size of an ottoman!

There were collections of pot all around the garden, just waiting for their own special plant.

After the vegetable garden, it was off to see the farm animals.

I expected to see a cow or two, but not this…..

or this…

or these…

and, especially not this…

If I were a chicken, I’d definitely want to hang out in this stylish chicken coop.

Fresh eggs at your beckon call.

I loved seeing the symbol of my zodiac sign…too cute!

And then it was on to the house….

Porches wrapped around the entire front of the house.

And the attention to detail, inside and out was incredible…

The floor of the foyer, hand painted by the owners.

Hand applied pinecone details, done by the owners!

Even the pups had a stylish watering hole.

The flowers inside the home were just as beautiful as those outside!

The views from inside the home were breathtaking.

There was beauty everywhere.

Dining Tables set out in the yard…

The Dove House…

The Vineyard…

Camp Boxwoods is one of the most stunning homes I’ve ever seen.  Randy and Dan were so gracious and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend a day at their beautiful weekend retreat.

Thank you Randy and Dan,  for letting us share your little slice of heaven!

I don’t think the lama liked sharing the photo-op!

Hope your weekend was as spectacular as mine!
