My Day At Scott Antique Market

Good Morning all!

This past weekend I visited one of my favorite places, Scott Antique Market and spent some time snapping a few photos to give you an idea of all the goodness that Scott has to offer.  While I didn’t take as many pictures as I wanted, ’cause taking photos and shopping at the same time is a hard task, I did manage to uncover some great items.

As I’ve mentioned before, Scott Antique Market is an emporium of high-end antiques and collectibles, all types of vintage items and a little junk thrown into the mix.  You name it, and you can probably find it at Scott!

I attend Scott just about every month and usually the only things on my shopping list, when not shopping for a client, is vintage furniture hardware for my jewelry creations, vintage home decor for my Etsy shop and vintage handbags to add to my personal collection.   Sometimes I’ll come across an item that really entices me, like this vintage sled below.  I thought the sled was so adorable and it brought back so many memories from my childhood winters in Washington State.  I was on the brink of purchasing it for $25 until my friend Tina reminded me that I now live in Atlanta where snow is a rarity!  She also made me think twice by reminding me that I had a husband at home who just might think I was crazy if I walked in the door with a sled.

So, I passed on the sled and continued trolling around Scott.

This gorgeous chair stopped me in my tracks.  Made in the US and only $625 I thought this was a great piece.  I took notes on it and think a pair just might work for a client project.

Here’s a love seat by the same vendor.  The skirt was done in burlap and the upper in a 100% cotton linen-look so the slight contrast gave this piece even more personality.

You can find vintage luggage pieces all over Scott.  I loved this stacked display by a vendor.

I have a bit of a weakness for lamps, especially when the shade is this cute.  It’s details like this that really count.

Scott is one of my favorite places to look for vintage jewelry.  This artist made this necklace from vintage crystal earrings and glass beads.   So lovely!

While there are a lot of very expensive antique pieces at Scott, sometimes you’ll run across a great value.  This glass front buffet was on $2200 and was in incredible shape. The drawers were all dove tailed, the glass beveled and the inside shelves all have plate grooves.

Design is in the details!  Furniture makers back in the day were such masters of their craft.

I’m on the lookout for a vintage scale and plan to search for one during my Longest Yard Sale trip.  This one was nice but not the style I am looking for.

I loved this oversized hurricane!  Perfect for a screened in Southern porch.

Scott has a boat load of painted furniture to choose from.  This simply dining table and chairs was finished in a white wash and upholstered in a blue linen!

Ok, who else thinks this starburst mirror is fab??  I love the combo of silver and copper!

I’m always inspired by the cute vignettes the vendors create at Scott. Here’s a rustic vignette glammed up with a little mercury glass!

I thought this wood sofa was beautiful. I especially love the spoke and brace detailing.

Here’s another sofa that caught my eye.  Painting the frame a color versus a stained wood was really refreshing. And, check out the burlap cording used around the back!  Such a stunning piece.

It was another great day at Scott.  I’m so blessed this market is here in Atlanta and that I can enjoy it every month!

Did you do any flea market/vintage shopping this weekend???

Highlights from Scott Antique Market

This past weekend I made a visit to Scott Antique Market.   If you’ve read my blog  for a while, you know that I have a love to antique and thrift shopping and Scott’s Antique Market is a regular appointment on my calendar.  Scott is one of the largest markets in the country and the offering of product ranges from high-end antiques to custom production pieces, to one-of-a-kind handmade items and lots of fabulous junk treasures thrown into the mix.

Since I was busy shopping, I didn’t stop to take a ton of pictures but did manage to snap a few shots of some really great stuff.

Linen upholstered furniture can be found all over Scott but this chair was one of the beauties that stood out to me!

I love accessorizing bookcases and iron finials like these are a perfect accent for bookshelves.  The set of three was selling for $55.00.

I fell head over heels for these oval back chairs.  Covered in linen, the detail on the upper back as stunning.  The lighter colored linen surround an oval wood inset and oval burlap center.  These chairs are a great mix of classic styling with a modern twist!  Only $375 a chair.

Love this little French style settee which sold early during the show.  The mix of fabric and wood finish work perfectly together.

There are lots of beautiful pillows to be had at Scott.  I loved these bold colored Ikat pillows ($40 each)  AND the clover leaf ottomans they sat on.

 Another great accent stool.

I ran across this vendor from North Carolina that was showing product for the first time at the market.  They make the most beautiful headboards.  This damask pattern was stunning and I loved the fact that by removing a couple of screws, you could remove the upholstered insert and recover it in a new fabric when the mood struck you.  There headboards ranged from $700 to $1100…great pricing!

Here’s a up close of the headboard insert.

And another more modern headboard style they make.  This vendor has the ability to make any size, shape and style of headboard you want!  Definitely a new resource I’m adding to my list.

In addition to headboards, they also make footstools and benches.  I love the octagon stool.

And, they also make pillows and sell them for an incredible price…2 for $50.00 (with down insert).  Needless to say, the pillows were flying out the door.

Way in the back of the North building sat this incredible console cabinet.   It caught my eye from across the room.

The drawer and door fronts are covered in a fine linen and accented with nailhead trim.  Such design detail and beauty!

I did pick up a few small pieces while shopping….

Vintage Rubber Stamp Holder–I’ve been looking for one of these for a while and was super excited to pick this up for only $5.00!

Vintage Christmas Postcards–lots of holiday projects just waiting for these!

Vintage Bracelets–these will be available in the ConfettiStyle shop soon.

So there you have it, a few highlights from my recent visit to Scott Antique Market.  If  you love antiques and thrifting, and have never come to Scott, you must add it to your list.  The show takes place the second weekend of each month and is a true treasure hunt.

Want to read more about the treasures you can find at Scott, check out the post I wrote here, here and here!

Treasure Hunting and Tips for Shopping Scott’s Antique Market

I’m back with part 2 of my trip to Scott Antique Market this month.  Today I’m sharing some of the furniture pieces that caught my eye along with some tips I have for shopping this market.

I mentioned in my last post that Scott Antique Market is made up of two buildings, North and South as well as outdoor vendors at each building.  I can’t even begin to estimate how many vendors show as Scott’s each month but there well over 300. Because of the size of the market, Scott’s has claimed the title as the World’s Largest Indoor Antique Market.  You can find just about anything at Scott’s from rare antiques and silver to antique reproductions and vintage pieces.  And, just like every antique store and flea market around, there is junk to be had as well.

Feb 2014 (19) copy

This beautiful wicker and cane chair was a favorite from the show.  The scale large enough so that the chair could be used alone as a cute accent chair.

Round Top Antiques Market–An Inside Look

thumb_IMG_2080_1024

I’m back today with at look at my trip to the Round Top Antiques Market in Round Top, Texas.  If you’ve never been to Round Top before, this post should give you an inside look at the market through the eyes of an avid antique and vintage shopper.

♦♦♦

Attending Round Top has been on my bucket list for some time now.  I’ve heard so many great things about the market and was excited to check it out for myself.

Here’s what I thought of the market, what I saw and a few things I purchased.

Round Top Antiques Market

The Round Top Antique Market spans over about a 15 to 20 mile stretch of road.  There are buildings and tents all along the route selling antiques and vintage goods and even some vendors off the main road selling odds and ends.  Unless you attend the show for a number of days, there is no way to stop at every shopping spot.  If you are only attending the market for a day or two, you’ll definitely want to plan ahead and determine which spots you want to shop.

Round Top Antiques Market

La Bahia Antiques Show is one of places we stopped and shopped.  This area is made up of permanent buildings and tented vendors and you’ll find all types of vintage decor and housewares here. I spotted lots of great items and although many were in my opinion were over-priced, most of the dealers were willing to negotiate.

This outdoor vendor had an amazing selection silver-plate items but most were very over-priced and when you asked for his best price he seemed offended. Needless to say he didn’t get our business.

Round Top Antiques Market

One of the best blue and white tabletop dealers is located at La Bahia and his selection of items was impressive.  His prices were a bit stiff but he was willing to negotiate which gave him two thumbs up in my book.

IMG_2010

After La Bahia we stopped at a barn along the road where ‘Poor Richard’ was selling goods.  He had a mx of items including large furniture pieces and miscellaneous tabletop and decor items.  And Richard was a nice as can be so shopping with him was a pleasure.

thumb_IMG_2017_1024

This oversized brass urn was $25 dollars but was a bit worn for my liking so I passed.

IMG_2024

I did buy these beautiful ironstone bowls for practically nothing! A definite score!

thumb_IMG_2021_1024

Poor Richard was also selling these amazing tree stumps…so gorgeous!

IMG_2026

There was a lady near Poor Richards selling items for $1.00 and my shopping mates scored big with her.  They  had picked over the table by the time I made it over there 🙁

Our next stop was the Big Red Barn.  This is one of several sites at Round Top that charge a fee to get in ($10 at the Red Barn).  If you are shopping for high-end antiques this is definitely a place you want to check out.

Check out this antique ribbon holder. So many beautiful details including some of the most beautiful brass pulls I’ve ever seen.

This scale was amazing and I think it was around $2700.

I had a vintage paper roll rack on my shopping list but every one I came across was several hundred dollars.  This one was amazing because it held three different size paper rolls.

There was lots of ironstone (check out the prices)

I spotted several dealers that also show at Scott Antique Market here in Atlanta and was happy to see that they didn’t increase their prices on some of their tried and true items.

thumb_IMG_2084_1024

The one place that we didn’t stop at but I will be sure to check out the next time I’m there is the Warrenton area.  This area was loaded with tented vendors and the selection of items appeared to be good as we drove through.

All in all, Round Top Antiques Market is a great show and has something to offer everyone. Here are a few tips I have for shopping the market:

TIPS FOR SHOPPING ROUND TOP ANTIQUES MARKET

  • Create a shopping list so that you stay focused on the items you are looking for.  Doing a little research before hand will also help you think about what you’re willing to pay for an item and it will help you when negotiating with dealers.
  • Take a camera or make sure your phone is fully charged so you can take pictures as you shop.  You can always turn around and go back to a location you saw an item at and picture of the piece and location will help.
  • Take cash.  I did see some vendor accepting credit cards and checks but cash is king and you’ll get a better deal if you are negotiating with cash.
  • Carry a tote bag or rolling cart.  Many of the shopping areas are large and you’ll want to be comfortable carrying your purchases as you shop.
  • Take it with you or have it shipped. There are several shipping business located throughout the show so if you see something that won’t fit on the plane or in the trunk, consider having it shipped.
  • Dress in layers.  Our shopping day started out nice, then it rained a bit and then it got super windy and cold.
  • Visit the free shopping areas and by-pass the paid spots like the Big Red Barn and Marburger.  I promise you won’t miss anything and you’ll find everything you can image in the free tents and buildings.
  • Negotiate.  Most dealers are prepared to negotiate on the price and many of them will offer you a fair deal.  Several times I looked items up on Etsy and Ebay in front of the dealer and they offered better pricing because they saw I was up to speed on the prices.
  • Plan to spend a little time in downtown Round Top which as some cute shops, restaurants and outdoor vendors that set up during the show.
  • Like most antique markets these days, you’ll see lots of vintage and antique reproductions of if you’re not sure what you’re looking at, ask the dealers to tell you a bit about the history of an item.  And, keep in mind that in most cases when you see a true antique, you’re not going to see multiples of the same item.  Multiples of an item often signals a reproduction especially with furniture, lighting and some tabletop pieces.

So, I know you’ve been waiting to see what other goodies I bought so here’s a look at a few of my favorite purchases…

Thrifting and a few Highligts from Scotts

Top of the morning to everyone.  I hope you had a good weekend!
I spent a good chunk of my weekend thrifting at a few local haunts and made a trip to Scott Antique Market to see what goodies I could find there.  I didn’t attend Scott last month so I was excited for the show this month.  One of my favorite vendors at the show brings boxes and boxes of items he purchases from estate sales, auctions and antique dealers.  His usual set-up consist of about 20+ tables loaded with stuff, some good and some on the “junk” side.  Looking through his tables is always an experience and most times I come away with a few good pieces.  I buy most of my milk glass from him and he always has piles and piles of vintage jewelry which is a draw for me.
Whenever I go to Scott to shop “my guy” as I affectionately call him, I go on Thursday, the first day the show opens. His stuff sells fast and there is always a crowd.  I’ll make sure to take photos of his space next month and show you the madness.
Anyhow, here’s a look-see at what I picked up from Scott’s and a few other spots around town.
IMG_2209 copy
I found this old scale and couldn’t resist. $8.00!
IMG_2206 copy
These vintage McLaughlin Milk glass bottles were a great find at only $3.00 each.  I’ve seen these selling on-line for as much as $40.00 a piece.
IMG_2205 copy
I adore vintage jewelry!
IMG_2201 copy
I’ve wanted to start collecting ironstone and was thrilled to find this piece for $5.00.   I feel a new obsession collection starting to build.
IMG_2200 copy
Aren’t these woven knobs cute?  “My guy” sold me these for .50 each.
IMG_2182 copy
This was probably my best buy from Scotts.  These unfinished oval frames which measured 48″ x 32″ were $5.00 a piece.  Image the mirror, chalkboard, corkboard options!
After making my purchases at Scott’s I made the rounds and snapped a few photos of things that caught my eye.
IMG_2191 copy
Love this mid-century modern lamp at the Parker Kennedy booth.  David and Lance always have a stunning booth filled with incredible pieces.
IMG_2192 copy
This gorgeous chest is also a Parker Kennedy piece.  That hardware is to die for!
 IMG_2187 copy
 I loved this tabletop vignette.
IMG_2190 copy
 A stunning piece of furniture!
IMG_2184 copy
Arched top shutters…so beautiful. I would use these pieces inside a home as décor.
IMG_2180 copy
 This Grandmother clock was fabulous.
IMG_2188 copy
Another pretty piece of furniture. The mirrored back and scalloped detailing really gave this piece its uniqueness.
After Scott’s I stopped at my one of my favorite flea markets and found a few things…
IMG_2198 copy
I’ve had great luck selling the other scales I’ve come across in my Etsy shop so this one will be headed there as soon as I clean it up a bit. This one is large and a really beauty.
IMG_2199 copy
I also found this Mottaheda Pinecone Finial( turned lamp) for $14.00.  This baby is solid brass and gorgeous.  I spotted the finial selling on-line for $200!
I’m so fortunate that Atlanta and the surrounding suburbs have lots of antique stores, thrift shops and flea markets to shop at.  A few days before Scott’s my friend Dorothy and I made a trip to visit Antique Traditions and on the way there we spotted church thrift store.  Of course we had to make a U-turn and pop in for a visit.
IMG_2202 copy
I picked up this beautiful blue glass bowl for $2.00 and the slate blue egg cups for .25 each.
IMG_2203 copy
 IMG_2204 copy
And this original oil painting was $4.00.
IMG_2210 copy
I also found a pair of ornate wall plaques with a mirrored center .  These pieces hang vertically and will look great flanking a larger mirror.
And finally, I found what is likely to be one of my most favorite pieces ever at an auction I attended last week.
IMG_2207 copy
This stunning cuckoo clock made my heart flutter.  I love the detailing and the old world charm it has.  I was told by someone at the auction to get it appraised but what I know so far is that it is a Schneider Black Forest Cuckoo Clock, maybe worth in the hundreds!
All in all, the past few days have resulted in some of my best thrifting finds.   I love the thrill of the hunt and coming home with a few things to keep or sell in my shops is always good!

Lakewood Antiques Market–A Treasure Trove

Just about every month I share the highlights and my purchases from my visit to Scott Antique Market.  Scott’s is considered one of the finer antique and flea markets in the country so I feel blessed that it comes to Atlanta every month.  I also feel lucky that Atlanta has another great market that opens each month, the weekend after Scott’s.  Yes, I get to spend two weekends out of each month shopping for all kinds of vintage treasures.
Lakewood Antiques Market is open the third weekend of each month, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and while it is smaller than Scott’s it is still a treasure trove for vintage accessories, tabletop pieces, furniture, linens and collectibles.  Perfect for an Etsy shop, design projects or crafting.
This month Lakewood had lots of great buys, so much so that after spending Friday shopping with my friends Tina and Dorothy, I had to go back for round two on Saturday with the hubby. (The fact that I was buying a mirror that saw super heavy had nothing to do with taking the hubby along 🙂 )
I wish all of you could be here to shop these great markets with me each month, but I know that’s not possible.  So instead I’ll share some of the pieces Lakewood had to offer.  Enjoy the virtual shopping trip.

IMG_1579 copy

This wood wall plaque made from an old wine barrel was really cool.
 IMG_1581 copy
It’s not secret that I love clipboards and I thought the idea of painting one with chalkboard paint was pretty great.
IMG_1580 copy
All around Lakewood there were lots of old vintage signs.  I especially loved this one.
IMG_1576 copy
My love of vintage scales grew even deeper when I saw this beauty.
IMG_1575 copy
Another great vintage sign.
IMG_1573 copy
Lots of vendors at Lakewood upcycle furniture pieces.  This dresser was upholstered on all sides in an old quilt  with really pretty crystal knobs.
IMG_1574 copy
IMG_1565 copy
Vintage hardware and lots of it.
IMG_1564 copy
Cool architectural elements and a few old corks thrown in for fun.
IMG_1572 copy
I loved this painted dresser.  My friend Tina scored the exact same piece at Goodwill for little or nothing and is in the process of putting her DIY stamp on it.
IMG_1569 copy
While Lakewood does not have the amount of true antiques that Scott’s does, this piece was a show stopper.  This mirrored armoire had to stand about 10′ high and had the most beautiful curves and details.  The mirror was in pristine condition.  The dealer was asking $1299.00 which I thought was a MAJOR steal!
IMG_1567 copy
I loved this hand painted dresser.  The top drawer and the legs really made it.
IMG_1563 copy
Vintage shoe lasts, great as an accessory on a bookshelf or table vignette.
IMG_1562 copy
There were two sets of these iron gates which could be great as wall décor or used as a decorative divider in a doorway.  The pair was going for $225.00.
IMG_1554 copy
This super size jar was really pretty.  A great shelf sitter.
IMG_1555 copy
Loved these spools of vintage tinsel.
IMG_1556 copy
I’m a sucker for vintage storage bins and really wanted this piece.
IMG_1559 copy
Tina and I met a new friend, Hilary who is also known as The Purse Lady.  She shows at both Scott’s and Lakewood and has the most impressive collection of vintage handbags I’ve seen.  If I died in her booth it would be the next best thing to heaven.
IMG_1560 copy
 Stunning glass front cabinet doors!
IMG_1553 copy
Very cool vintage table with pull out extensions.
IMG_1552 copy
Loved this chair and thought it would make for a great DIY project.
IMG_1551 copy
I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t buy this vintage paper holder.  It was gone on Saturday when I went back for it.  Lesson learned!
IMG_1550 copy
Large ship wheels which would look great over the bed at a beach front home.
IMG_1549 copy
 Vintage crates of all kinds…
IMG_1548 copy
and vintage rulers in all colors.
IMG_1546 copy
I bought a few of these vintage keys for my jewelry designs.
IMG_1545 copy
 Drink crates stacked high.
IMG_1544 copy
A basket full of vintage tennis rackets.  Loved the ones with the covers.
IMG_1577 copy
More vintage signs.
IMG_1582 copy
A great collection of luggage (sorry for the blur)
IMG_1578 copy
I loved most of these vintage clocks but thought they were a bit overpriced.
IMG_1583 copy
And just in time for spring picnics, this collection of vintage picnic baskets!
As I said, this months Lakewood show was the bomb.  I walked away with a 4′ x 3′ arch top mirror for $20, several brass planters and urn for $5.00 each, silver trays that I snagged for $3.00 and a few other goodies that will be showing up in the shop soon.
I can’t wait for next months Lakewood show.  One of the halls is going through a renovation and will be expanded to include even more vendors, which means more shopping~
Until my next shopping adventure….

Estate Sale Tips (and my latest finds)

Estate Sale Shopping Tips by ConfettiStyle

I haven’t always loved shopping estate sales.  In fact I really didn’t get into it until about 8 or 9 years ago.  Prior to that,  I thought the only thing you found at an estate sale was furniture and tools.  Little did I know that estate sales are a treasure trove for all kinds of items including decor, tabletop items and vintage jewelry.

Several years ago I subscribed to EstateSales.net and their website changed the way I shop estate sales forever.  EstateSales.net is national listing service were companies list upcoming sales.  In addition to providing the when and where details, companies also give you a preview of the items in the sale.  As a subscriber you can choose when to be notified about upcoming sales near you.  And the sale listings include both in home and online auction sales.

Launching in 2002, EstateSales.net now gets over 30 million page views per month and is the best way to keep informed about sales in your area.

Beside the fact that you can find some amazing pieces at great price, there are several other reasons why I like shopping estate sales.

WHY I SHOP ESTATE SALES

  1. Estate sales are a great source for vintage furniture.  Just about every estate sale I attend has a drop-leaf table or two, upholstered ottomans as well as antique chairs and lighting.  In most cases the pieces are good quality and just need a face lift with fabric, paint or refinishing.
  2. I love a good bargain.  Like I mentioned early, you can find some real treasures at rock bottom prices. If you’re furnishing your home or looking for items to re-sell, these sales are a great place to shop for both vintage and new pieces.
  3. I’m looking for a DIY project.  Every now and then I’m looking for a specific item to DIY for my home.  Often times I can find the perfect piece that makes an ideal DIY project.
  4. I’m inspired by home design. I love walking through homes and being inspired by different design and architectural details.  Estate sales give me an opportunity to look at both old and new homes for design inspiration. In some cases, the homes are being torn down and some architectural elements might even be for sale.

Now that you know why I like to shop estates sales, let me show you what I found on my last outing.

A couple of weekends ago Mr. Confetti and I stopped by an estate sale on the last day.  Like most estate sales, the prices had been dropped and on this day everything was 75% off. All clothing and handbags were just $1.00.

The house was jammed packed, mostly decor, tabletop, apparel and jewelry.  We arrived early and upon entering the house, I stayed on the main floor and Mr. Confetti headed to the basement.  After about 30 minutes of shopping we met up in the living room to sort through out finds and decide what to keep.

My Latest Estate Sale Finds…

I bought 8 of these gold-rimmed dinner plates for $1.00 each.  There are no markings on the plates so I’ve been trying to find the style name and manufacturer. My gut tells me they are made by Noritake but I’m not sure.  If you know anything about this plate design, let me know.

I’m always on the hunt for blue and white pottery and found a few pieces I love.  The first was this double happiness ginger jar that was in perfect condition.  I also found this shaped lidded dish which was just a few bucks.

This set of 7 brass napkin rings were wrapped up in a plastic bag and severely tarnished.  A quick polish and their beauty was revealed.

One of the things I was most excited to find were these wood risers.  I snagged each of them for just .75 cents each.

I couldn’t pass up these three small blue and white pieces.  The blue and white flower frog will be a cute accent on a bathroom vanity or desk.  And I imagine using the two small cups to hold jewelry or office supplies.

This brass tray was another amazing find.  I immediately fell in love with the floral blossom design and bamboo style edging.

This brass container is a classic design and can be used for so many purposes.

I’m jazzed about the pieces I found at the sale.  Some of these items are keepers and others will be going into my Etsy shop soon.   If you’ve never been to an estate sale but are intrigued, I’ve listed a few shopping tips below that should help you.

TIPS FOR SHOPPING ESTATE SALES

First day–to get the best stuff, plan to arrive early.  Any trending or under-priced items will be the first pieces to go.  The early bird definitely gets the worm at an estate sale.

Second/Third day–by the second day, the sale will be picked over and prices will most likely be slashed. The second or third day of the sale is typically the slowest which will give you a better opportunity to inspect items.  You’ll also have a better chance at negotiating prices on these days.

Last day–this is when you’ll find your best bargains. Sellers are motivate to see everything go and will definitely be open to offers.  You can even try to offer a bulk price for all the items you are interested in.

Grab and go–do a quick walk-thru of every room when you get to a sale and grab anything of interest. Once you have a pile, go through the items more throughly to determine what you’ll buy. When you find a furniture piece you like, pull the price ticket off and take it to the check out area so it will be held for you.

Look everywhere–check inside any open and accessible areas like closets, the garage and basements.  Like items aren’t always grouped together so cover every inch of the house for treasures.

Ask about unmarked items–appliances, draperies and rugs may not be marked but are often available for sale if you ask.

Cash or Check–estate sale companies like when buyers have cash or write a check to avoid the added credit card processing fee.  Make sure you have your checkbook and cash on hand when you go to a sale.

Know you measurements–if you’re shopping for furniture, have the key measurements of your home with you.  You’ll want to make sure items will fit through doorways and in the spaces you have planned.

You buy it, you load it–most estate sales will not load furniture into your car.  Make sure you have additional hands at the ready to help you load your purchases.  You might be able to come back at a later time to pick your items up but there’s always the risk that an item getting damaged or mistakenly sold to someone else while you gone.

All sales are final–check the condition of everything before you buy it.

My Recent Thrifting Finds–Thrill of the hunt!

Happy Thursday friends.  This week has flown by but as promised, I’m back to share my latest thrifting finds with you.  Last week the hubs and I shopped Scott Antique Market and I popped into one of my favorite flea markets.

At Scott, I stopped by to see ‘my guy’ as I affectionately call one of the dealers. His treasures aren’t displayed in a fancy way but are simply strewn across tables for you to rummage through. It’s definitely the thrill of the hunt in his space.

As I walked from table to table I didn’t see much at first but then I came across this blue and white jar.  It already own another one just like this and since they are both missing their lids I’m planning to use them as flower vases.

Another great find were these gorgeous English Ironstone transferware plates. I paid $15 for the set of 8 which were all in perfect condition. These will be perfect for a fall or Thanksgiving tablescape.

These art deco Black Tiara Glass Candleholders were just $5.00. They will be fun to use with my black and white dinnerware when setting the table for entertaining.

.This last piece I scored at a flea market/thrift store I shop at often.  It was sitting outside with a couple of small tables stacked on top of it but it immediately caught my attention. Hello gorgeous bamboo table for only $30!!! The table was in great shape and just needed a quick cleaning. Right now I have it on my side of the bed as a night stand but I have a couple of other places it might work too.
