Waiting On Martha Home–A Shopper’s Paradise

Waiting On Martha Home Store Review

I’ve been meaning to make a visit to the Waiting On Martha Home (WOMH) store and last Saturday I was finally able to see the store in person.  WOMH was the starting point for the Thrift With Tyler event that I attended.   The store was the perfect spot to get me inspired for a day of shopping.

Waiting on Martha Home is located in Smyrna, GA in the Vinings Jubilee shopping center.  It’s a must-see home decor and gift store for those of you living in the Atlanta area.

Upon entering the store, I had to clutch my wallet because this is definitely a place where I could drop a few coins.

The store is warm and inviting and there are intriguing vignettes in every corner.

WOMH carries an array of products including furniture, decor, gifts and fashion accessories.  And if you love to entertain, there’s a great assortment of bar and tabletop items perfect for every entertaining occasion.  I was especially smitten with the linens and will be going back to order some of the gorgeous monogrammed napkins.

Shopping for unique gifts can be challenging but the store had a great selection of items for both men and women.

I’m a sucker for coffee table books and loved the selection.

I’m a fan of Mandy, the owner of WOMH and like me, she has a love affair with blue and white.  She’s made sure to stock the shelves with both traditional and whimsical blue and white decor.

WOMH carries a small selection of apparel and fashion accessories that are on-trend pieces and affordable. This round bag caught my eye and would be perfect for summer weekends running around town.

Guys, this is just a small sampling of the items you’ll find in the WOMH store.   To see more of what’s available, check out the online shop.  And for even more shopping fun, you can shop WOMH on Instagram.

I hope you get a chance visit the store–I know you’ll love it as much as I do.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and will be here before we know it.  Whether your Mom is super stylish, likes to entertain, or is that hard to buy for woman, I’ve got Mother’s Day gift ideas that will make mom feel extra special on her special day.

2018 Mother's Day Gift Guide by ConfettiStyleNo. 1–There’s just something about a little bling that makes a woman feel special.  Mom will feel like a million bucks with these beautiful Stella Hoop Earrings from Bauble Bar.

No. 2–I definitely got my love for handbags from my mom. This Rigid Handle Tote Bag from Zara is one of my favorites spring and summer bags and is perfect for the mom that loves fashion.

No. 3 –We all know moms love to keep their handbags neat and tidy.   The Leather Triangle Pouch from Mark & Graham is a unique and stylish option to hold loose change, cosmetics or keys.  The hard part will be picking a color or design.

No. 4–A great gift idea for the mom that loves to entertain.  Charlotte Moss Entertains is filled with beautiful images, inspiring tablescapes and loads of party planning ideas.  This book has quickly become one of my favorite entertaining and coffee table books.

No. 5–If entertaining is really mom’s passion, she’ll love the Ardsley Platter from the Aerin Collection for Williams Sonoma Home.  When not in use at a party, the tray also make a pretty decorative statement.

No. 6–Pamper mom with Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Body Cream.  I’ve been using DK Cashmere Mist products for years and always get compliments when I wear the body cream. The scent is heavenly.

No.7–Mom will be pretty in pink with this Sole Society Talisades Tasseled Clutch.  I love the texture and abstract design, and the tassel is an added bonus. This cute clutch is also available in a natural color.

No.8–Treat mom to a picnic on Mother’s Day and gift her this adorable Woven Picnic Basket from the OpalHouse collection at Target.  Fill it with all of her favorite treats to make the gift extra special.

No. 9–I recently discovered a new online floral delivery company called Bloom That and was smitten with their beautiful arrangements.  Their arrangements are more artistic and stylized than what you typically find with online floral companies.  I also like the fact that they guarantee no flower substitutions so what you see online is what you get.

No. 10–One of my personal indulgences is monogrammed stationery and I think it makes a perfect Mother’s Day gift.  The Delavan Monogram Tablet Set from Paper Style is affordable and the monogram style and color can be customized to fit your moms style

No. 11–Help mom decorate and relax with this pretty Voluspa Maison Candle.  Mom will love using this as she soaks in the tub or lounges in her mom cave.

Mom…She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible.  She walked with the universe on her shoulders & made it look like a pair of wings!

Spring Entertaining: Tablescape Styling {plus tips}

Spring and Easter Tablescape by ConfettiStyle

One of my favorite color combinations is black and white with pops of bold color.  It’s a classic statement with an edgy vibe and I love the energy that these colors create when used together.  And it’s the perfect color statement for spring entertaining.

To celebrate the first day of spring, I pulled together a bold and bright spring entertaining tablescape to share with you.  And I added a couple of Easter elements in too since Easter is just a few weeks away.

SPRING ENTERTAINING:  BOLD & BRIGHT

Spring and Easter Tablescape by ConfettiStyle

Spring is the season when trees are blooming and flowers are budding so I created a beautiful flower arrangement as the centerpiece for my table.  I used this gorgeous yellow chinoiserie planter that I scored at an estate sale and filled it with a mix flowers from Trader Joe’s.

Flower Arranging Tip:  Use florist’s foam to keep flowers in place and constantly hydrated so they last longer. Soak the foam for 15 minutes before cutting it to fit the container. Water the foam every couple of days.

Tablescape Styling Tip:  Creating contrast is a great way to give your tablescape dimension and depth.  Combine colors that are opposite on the color wheel; mix matte and shiny finishes; use a variety of patterns for visual interest.

Spring and Easter Tablescape by ConfettiStyle

I know I’ve said it over and over, but one of the key elements of a beautiful table is the layering.  I layered different plate styles to give the table a  ‘collected’ but elegant look.  And the black and white striped placemats add a modern and dramatic edge.  Instead of using colorful glassware that would have competed with the flowers, I used clear crystal to add a touch of sparkle.

** I’ll let you in on a little secret.  Those beautiful scalloped white dinner plates with the silver rim are actually plastic!  Don’t they look amazing?  Until you pick them up you have no idea they aren’t real china.   If you want to pick up a set, I found them at Tuesday Morning.

Spring and Easter Tablescape by ConfettiStyle

I layered each pacesetting with my thrifted red salad plates and black and white accent pieces.  The small rectangular black and white plates came from C. Wonder (I miss that store) and I got the black and white bowls through a trade resource.  My red diy monogram dinner napkins  add yet another pop of color.

Tablescape Styling Tip:  don’t be afraid to mix different materials in creating your pacesetting.  There are tons of beautiful melamine plates at HomeGoods and they can make a great layering element when combined with china.

Spring and Easter Tablescape by ConfettiStyle

Whenever I create a tablescape, I like to use candles as part of the centerpiece statement.  The tall crystal candlesticks are from Tiffany’s and were a gift when I left Eddie Bauer to move to Atlanta.  They add height and along with the stemware give that table some shine and shimmer.

I shared my newly upholstered round ottomans on IG and love the way they coordinate with the centerpiece on the table.  The floral fabric is one of my all-time favorite budget fabric finds.  You can purchase it here and you won’t believe the price.

To give the table a nod to Easter, I nestled two ceramic bunnies on each side of the centerpiece and tied a pink bow around their next.  The bunnies were a Target dollar spot find from last year.

Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour–Part 2

Christmas Decor by ConfettiStyle--Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour

Welcome friends to Part 2 of the Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour.  I’m excited to share more of my holiday home with you.  If you missed the Part 1 of the tour and the unveiling of my Christmas tree, you can find it here.

For those of you coming over from Positively Southern, welcome. Tamyra’s decor is so lovely and exudes southern elegance and beauty.

Today I’m sharing my dining room, holiday bar cart and the fun accent I added along our stair rail.   First up is the dining room.

Come gather at our Christmas table…

Christmas Decor by ConfettiStyle--Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour

The main level of our townhouse is an open concept so the dining space flows into the living room. I continued the colors on my tree (red & hot pink) into the dining room decor and on to my holiday tablescape.

Christmas Decor by ConfettiStyle--Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour

When it comes to entertaining, I love an overly layered table.  I chose not to use a tablecloth and instead let the placemats and table runner serve as the first layer of my table decor.  The table, runner which you get a glimpse of below, has a modern pattern which mixes well with the other elements on the table.  Don’t worry, you’ll get to see more the runner in just a bit.

Christmas Decor by ConfettiStyle--Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour

I pulled out this vintage swan to use as the centerpiece and absolutely love the whimsy it adds to the table.  Pink roses and a few evergreen and eucalyptus sprigs created a really lush and glamorous arrangement.

Flanking the swan are red mercury glass vases with red silk peonies.   And since every tablescape needs candles, I added white taper candles in crystal candle holders.

I kept the place settings simple and made sure to incorporated both pink and red to coordinate with the rest of my decor.  The glass charger plates and white china with a silver rim add a little bling to the table.   The chargers have a beaded bottom which also adds a lot of sparkle.

Hot pink dinner napkins sit on top of the salad plates and on top of it sits a red & gold holiday appetizer plate.

tablescape tip:  don’t be afraid to mix silver and gold in your table settings.

Here’s a closer look at the reversible table runner from SmithHonig.  It so beautiful and I couldn’t be happier with how it looks with table decor.  The top of the runner features the Ashes Of Roses fabric and the bottom is red velvet.

SmithHönig is a line of textiles, art, furniture & furnishings from award-winning designer Kellie Smith & visual artist & travel blogger Melanie Hönig.  Their product line includes pillows, linens, fabric-by-the-yard and wallpaper. If you’re looking for unique decor and fabrics for your home, you’ll definitely want to check out SmithHonig.

All is merry, all is bright…

One of my favorite elements on the table are the Mario Luca Giusti Dolce Vita Acrylic Wine Glasses.  These beauties are from the UK-based decor and gift company Amara.  The green is such a rich and vibrant color and I love the fact that they are lightweight and unbreakable. Wine glasses are just one item in Amara’s acrylic tabletop collection which includes pitchers, tumblers, champagne glasses and more.

Christmas Decor by ConfettiStyle--Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour

If you saw my Christmas tree last week, you’ll remember that I used tissue paper honeycomb balls to decorate it.  Well, look what I found in my stash of entertaining  goodies?  These cute honeycomb ball hors d’oeuvre picks.  They couldn’t be more perfect with my Christmas theme.

Christmas Decor by ConfettiStyle--Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour

The dining room chandelier that was in the house when we bought it is not my style.  I plan to replace it next year so for Christmas I used holly leaf and berry garland to camouflage it a bit.

Christmas Decor by ConfettiStyle--Merry & Bright Holiday Home Tour

The side board is decorated with a grouping of red mercury glass trees, greenery sprigs and round ornaments in pink and red.

’tis the season to be jolly…

I placed my bar station on the far side of the living room, next to the door that leads to the deck.  Instead of a traditional bar cart, I used this three-tier table that I  scored it at a flea market for $30. It’s perfect for holding bottles, glassware & bar accessories.

And finally, here’s a look at our stair banister all dressed up for Christmas.

I swagged garland along the banister and hung iron bells and ornaments at different intervals.  The metal bells are from one of my favorite stores in Norcross called The Shops Of Antique Traditions.

Holiday Gift Guide | Gifts For Him

I don’t know about the rest of you ladies but when it comes to buying Christmas gifts for men, I find myself stumped more often than not.

Take my husband for instance.  Whenever I ask him what he wants for Christmas, his typical response is “whatever you get me is great.” What’s a girl to do with that?  And just how many sweaters does one man need?

Then there’s my brother.  He is a ‘techie’ and loves electronics and computer stuff but if he wants something, he buys it for himself.  When Christmas rolls around, I’m left clueless as to what to get him.

So in honor of all the hard-to-buy-for-men out there, here are some great gift ideas I think will garner a big hug on Christmas morning.
